Q: I tried my bank chart system and they do not show 15 year charts.
can you tell me what was the low back the great recession 2008/2009 period, for these 2 stocks. It should give some perspective on where we were during a severe recession.

Q: I am a buy and hold investor with 5 to 10 years of time horizon.
Have the following 7 stocks in Canadian Utilities in the order of their weights in our portfolio. Utilities makeup roughly 8.5% of the total portfolio including cash positions and like their dividend. FTS, TRP,EMA, AQN, ENB, BEP-UN, BIP-UN. I like to reduce exposure to utilities and also like to reduce number of different shares. Two questions:
1. Is 8.5% a reasonable weight considering the current situation?
2. Which one of these I should sell to reduce utilities weight and to reduce the number of shares in utilities?

Q: Hello,
I’ve been reading a lot on P/E ratios after your special report. From what I can gather once a company share is priced at 12 or lower P/E that typically this is a good buy for a long term hold. Is this typically accurate in your opinion?
Also, can you provide a site, which we would have access to, that provides the most accurate/up-to-date P/E ratios.
TIA

Q: Good morning,
I have the same amount of shares in VIU and VEE as a year ago, but the quarterly dividends both recently announced are both smaller than last year's. Why is this? Have many international companies maybe cut their dividends due to the virus and it's impacts? Could this be a Vanguard decision? Thanks

Thank you for showing us how to behave like you guys, professional money managers.
Quick question and a simple yes or no will suffice. Are you looking at modifying some names from the growth portfolio?

Q: Hello 5i Research
Please recommend a Canadian ETF or index the tracks the Dow Jones index that would also participate if the Canadian dollar rise compare to the US dollar.
Thanks
Claudio

Q: Can you suggest any place where I can monitor for canadian companies suspending or reducing their dividends? Thanks very much.
Q: Hello,
I’d like your opinion on phys.ca. I’m holding a small amount that I bought at $13 and the price is down a little. Is now a good time to average in or do you think it’s still too early?. What are your thoughts on Projections of $1800 plus per oz? This will still be a relatively small holding in a trading account.
As always thank you for your insight.

Q: What is your opinion on the $1 trillion+ stimulus and the Covid19 impact on the economy in the next few months or longer? What happens if the general lockdown last a few months? Any chance that it is not as big of a story than reported by the media? I had to drive out of town on Friday and I listened to CNBC for 2 hours. It was so negative I had to turn it off. Is it just me or are they trying to scare people? Thank you for your general comments.
Q: Would you add to SLF at $37?
Any reason for the recent weakness outside a bad market? Would they have higher than usual insurance liability in this environment? (Such as business interruption clause or other). Thank you!

Q: I have BCE, T, POW, MG, MFC and NTR in a non-registered. I can sell these for a tax loss presently and would prefer to buy proxies as replacement to stay in the market. Could you suggest proxies for each company?
Thanks

Q: Realizing that you don't have a crystal ball can you suggest how safe you think the dividends are for DIV, FRU and A&W?
I am seeking dividends in a registered account and if the dividends from the above companies are threatened or cut I guess the stock price would would really collapse. I am thinking I could sell and replace them with a much safer dividend ETF like FDV (or anthing you suggest). On the other hand, if you think they might be
Ok, they sure are paying one heck of a dividend right now and if the stock price could recover in due course I would just be as well off continuing to hold.

Q: Benjamin Tal was speaking on the current situation and crisis. He indicated that the crisis has identified significant cracks in the current global economy and he is forecasting some significant changes in how companies will operate going forward. Particularly he identified that the vulnerability of the supply chain and the 'just in time' approach to supply. He believes these 2 things will change going forward. He believes we will see an acceleration in de-centralization (started by trump) and a more balanced approach to having supplies on hand. If you beleive in these 2 economic trends, what stocks do you believe would fit these trends. I am thinking commercial warehousing and the like?
thank you.
thank you.
Q: Any idea why Osisko Gold Royalties is behaving relatively badly the last few weeks? I know the price of gold has gone down somewhat (in US$ - not so much in CDN$), but I thought royalty companies would be more stable. Is it a good buy now?
