Q: Just an observation. So the US wants both Russia and the Saudis to cut production to save their companies from bankruptcy while they, the world’s largest producer does not cut. Hmmm

Q: First, congrats on passing the 100,000 question mark. This is a remarkable achievement. Well done.
Can subscribers expect a special dividend payment?
Reading Knight Therapeutics' results and conference call recap, I learned Knight now has 700 employees, will have over $400M in cash after paying out all shareholders to conclude the purchase, concluded the battle with Medison, started expanding into Mexico on day one in December and does not foresee any financial stress on the company due to the virus. This is very positive. On the negative side, they obviously have a problem getting to Doctors although the flow of medicine is uninterrupted, two drugs were not designated for public funding by Health Canada and, obviously, the timing of the purchase would have most likely been better if done a couple of months later after the virus hit.
A couple of questions: would Knight have any options with the drugs refused public insurance or are they stuck with these investments and how much will that affect their business; do you think Knight will be able to use their vast international network to bring new drugs to Biotoscan that they may not have had access to; how much will the virus interfere with revenues in Canada, Israel and LatAm or will shipments continue as usual; and, finally, in general, do you think Knight, all situations considered, is on a positive trajectory for the future when the current crisis ends?
Thank you very much.

Q: I read an article that suggest that the US has essentially moved the FED's role to the Treasury Dept, thereby giving control (more at least) to the Trump admin. First, do you see this as the case, and second, if they were to devalue the US dollar as Trump has often called for to better compete with the world, and this brought structural support to the political move away from China and ROTW imports and boosted a reemergence of the US manufacturing/supply-chain system, what companies would look like a steal today ten years from now?

Q: Dear 5i,

For a new purchase in a NonReg account. Is it better to buy BIPC compared to BIP.UN due to the eligible dividend?
For a new purchase in a RRSP account which one is better to buy?
For a new purchase in a TFSA account which one is better to buy?
Can you confirm that a Canadian holder of any of the above receive the dividend
automatically converted by Brookfield into CDN dollars.

thanks

Ian

Q: Hello,
I have a question about the potential need for a Canadian citizen to fie a USA tax return, stemming from their investment in certain assets. I hold both BPY.UN and EPD in various registered accounts (RRSP, LIRA & TFSA). Subsequent to filing my 2019 Canadian tax return, I am now receiving documentation from both Brookfield and Enterprise Product Partners L.P. that would appear to indicate there might be some desire on the part of the U.S. government that I file a Schedule K-1 form, related to income I received from these two entities, during 2019. My questions are:

As a Canadian citizen who holds these investments within my registered accounts, am I in any way compelled to file a Schedule K-1 and/or any associated USA Federal or State tax returns?
Whether compelled to file them or not, is there anything potentially to be gained on my part, if I were to file the U.S.A. federal and any state specific tax returns? (The recovery of any withholding taxes on the income I received in 2019, for instance)

Thank you!

Q: Question about ZM,

I know you mentioned in an old comment that ZM is trading at a crazy ~20x sales multiple... is that forward sales estimates and is that incorporating the recent surge of sales due to COVID?
I know it is a hyped stock, but in the last 2 weeks I went from not knowing about zoom to all my work life being through zoom and now my social life as well though group zoom chats. I know from a work perspective I will keep using zoom... it seems like a large chunk of the developed world has been recently introduced to their product (and it is a good product)

When have estimates been revised, what are the forward sales and earnings multiples now, and do you think it is a buy?

Q: At a 15 % yield, the market must be anticipating a distribution cut. A 2/3 cut brings the yield down to 5 % which seems reasonable for this Brookfield company , even with the inherent problems they will have with retail and possible office properties. What does the balance sheet say about distribution strength? Would Brookfield be very reluctant to cut one of their major companies? Would you nibble on this one or stay away from the sector altogether? Thanks

Q: Could you please give me your opinion on these three companies in light of the current situation. I hold Cu and CHR, but not AC. I am particularly thinking of AC since post the virus, it would seem to be likely to recover significantly. Your thoughts?
Please charge as many questions as you deem appropriate.
