Q: Hi,

I have a position in PXT. I read an article that indicated that at $30 Brent oil price, PXT is still profitable.

With Brent oil prices currently at around $30 and PXT having cash on hand and no debt, could you please share your opinion on the stock and if PXT would be the one oil based recovery stock to benefit provided oil prices don’t sink further.

Thanks,

Q: Neither of my Cdn bank online brokerages show any new shares for UTX this morning, and UTX now trades as RTX as I understand it. But I'm reading conflicting info on what will happen with my UTX shares. Will they just become RTX? Will I receive spin off shares? A google search doesn't seem to give a clear answer.

Q: I have 100k to invest and require income from dividends as it for non registered account. Irregardless of sectors, which solid, dividend paying stocks would you buy that have been beaten down and provide the most dividends for the buck. Would you buy all at once or spread the purchases over a time frame.

Q: Hi 5i! Hope all of you and your families are well and safe.
Myself, being in a enthousiastic investment shopping mode, I'm looking for a BRK.B type of investment in canada. Which do you prefer between FFH, BAM.A, ONEX and why?
Any other suggestions?
Many thanks!

Q: Dear 5i
A couple weeks ago i sold an ETF for a loss . A few days ago i inadvertently bought the same ETF back though not the same dollar value . In this situation have i lost the tax loss claim for accounting purposes and if so is there any way of getting it back ie re selling again the same ETF i just purchased a few days ago ?
Also i`ve opened up 3 RIF accounts ( mine, my wifes and her spousal ) .
I plan on transferring our RRSP monies from each of our RRSP accounts into the corresponding RIF accounts but only for what we need to live on for that year (for tax reasons ). This amounts to about $16k per account .
My question is how should the $16k per RIF account be invested considering that about $4k will come out from each account every 3 months (staggered withdrawals ) ? The bulk of the investments will still be in RRSP`s and it is these accounts that can be fully invested ( when the time comes re the virus ) .
Thanks
Bill C.

Q: The current volatility and fear in the market has lead me to believe there will be some companies that will unnecessarily be punished/caught in the crossfire and therefore offer a great risk/return
could you please list out companies in your mind that have decreased significantly unfairly and/or offer a compelling risk/return in the US or Canadian Markets
thank you

Q: Hello you Guys,
My question is as follows :
A number of years ago (3 or 4?) on a portfolio review it was suggested I buy VOX as I had no telecommunications exposure. It has been up and down and currently down. Would it make sense for me to sell the VOX and swing into either Telus, Bell or any other holding you would suggest at this time? And while I have you, is there 1 particular stock you would say is a diamond in the ruff? I'm pretty well diversified so sector stuff not so important, just a really great company that you guys really like. Bet you hate these questions but you never disappoint!
many thanks.

Q: I own BIP.UN and have received BIPC in my non-registered account. Should I sell BIP.UN and buy BIPC to get higher Canadian dividend tax credit? Will there be any tax implication? Can BIP.UN be exchanged with BIPC, without incurring expenses? Thanks.
