Q: What do you think of Lincoln National? Is the dividend "safe", Do you see it moving back to a pre-Covid level, are there better choices.
And, what stocks do you see thriving in a low/negative environment?

Q: My outlook on the market is that there is a lot more downside risk than upside potential. I am thinking to use bull and bear ETF's to reduce market risk in a pair trade of sorts. For example, go long NASDAQ (QQQ) and short S&P (SH). The other one I'm thinking about is long investment grade (LQD) and short high yield (SJB). What do you think of the strategy generally? Secondly, what is your opinion on my choices?

Q: I sold LSPD yesterday after more than doubling up and was quite pleased with the $29.50 number until I saw that it has closed at $34. I want to be a long term owner an my thinking was that it would drift down from my sale price as reality sets in over the coming months. I am well aware that this is why 5i does not advocate this sort of trading and trying to time things but my question now is whether you think it settles down a few dollars or follows Shopify to the moon? My opinion with all of the fear created by our media is that restaurant business will be slower even once they are allowed to open fully. Q: Does a guy wanting to own long term bite the bullet and get back in now or roll the dice and wait? Thoughts?

Q: Good morning, Peter and Ryan.
Sorry this is to follow up with my last question. I forgot to include ATZ in my tickers.
I have limited cash in CAD RRSP account now. I think the each of above four stocks (i.e. XBC, DOO, ATZ, WELL) will be good additions to diversify my current portfolio. But I may add only two of three of the above. Can you please rank them?
Thank you,
Yiwen

Q: My TD Waterhouse account currently shows QYLD as yielding 12.4 %. Pretty sure it didn't yield that much when I bought it for a lesser price. Could you confirm that yield is correct and explain it for me ? I know the yield is a combination of dividends and writing covered calls but suspect the ETF uses a strategy to achieve a yield between a certain range. If that is accurate I would like to know what that range is ? Also I realize portfolio weightings are a personal thing but could you give me a range of low to comfortable high for a weighting in this ETF in an RRIF ? I currently have a 4% position and am considering increasing it to 6 % or 7% Could go higher depending on what 5I's advice is . ...... Thank you for your sage advice during these volatile market times.....

Q: Hi 5i team,
I went to check recent questions on UAA and there were none. Maybe that is a bad omen. It has really been beaten up with a big earnings miss and poor guidance. It seems to be one of the have nots in retail but I thought it had somewhat of a loyal following and some branding power. The item that recently caught my eye was the appointment of Mohamed A. El-Erian as the lead independent director. I have always found Mohamed to be very thoughtful and insightful on the markets. Is there any hope for UAA? I don’t own it but am intrigued by Mohamed.
Thanks again for the insight.

Q: Hi 5i team,

General question on the following accounts. What is the best way to view holding
Richards Packaging keeping in mind the effective yield and stock at 52 week high but seems stable in this market. Or sell taking tax hit on the non reg account, and investing in Enbridge or something else you might suggest that might provide yield and some capital gain.

Thank you
Mike

cost income yield on cost basis

Q: I have been checking out investment savings accounts as an alternative to money market funds as a place to hold cash for future investment. RBC has a number of these RBF 2010, 2020, 2030 and 2040, but when I pull up a quote on the RBC Direct Investing site none of these funds are showing any assets. I doubt that I would be the first person to buy some. Do you know what is going on here?

Q: Recently, there have been some questions asked about which companies are likely to benefit from a shift to more people working from home. ZM, DOCU, WORK were some of the suggestions.

Could you please take a look at the other side of that question. What tech companies which have done well in the traditional work environment are likely to be hurt by a shift to working from home? Are there tech companies that support business in it's traditional model which might not do as well in a work from home environment?

Similarly, assuming there is a large shift towards working from home, are there any companies which you have recently been bullish on which you think would suffer if that large shift to working from home was to take place?

Thanks,
Geoff
