Q: Hi Gentleman,
I'm looking to simplify my portfolio on both the Canadian and US side.
Looking for your suggestions on your top 1-4 ETF's that trade on the TSX that would provide diversification by sector and globally as well as a dividend that would be safe? The same question for your top 1-4 ETF's on the US side. Long term holds 10-15 years. portfolio size is $500,000.
Thanks,
SF

Q: Can I have your opinion on 3 quite safe and high paying dividend stocks. I have 30k in a savings account at 2 % being taxed and I have room in my TFSA, but I really feel better with quality dividends rather than risk at this time.
Thanks, J

Q: Can you give me names of 10 companies - CDN and U.S - that you feel have:
* strong balance sheets,
* a strong likelihood to survive or thrive in the current environment
* appear to be of good current value with an eye on a potentially strong rebound given a bit of time.
Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Q: hi there,

I own a basket of chip companies including AVGO, Nvidia, Microchip in my US 401K and am looking to add Intel based on research that they have the best AI chips out there and will set them up for new technology going forward. Your thoughts. It would bring my total position to 5% of my portfolio.

Q: Thank you for your answer to my question of May 28th, about forecast equity returns by geographic region/ country. You provided a link to Star Capital's site, which forecasts the US to have amongst the lowest equity returns globally over the next 15 years.

I would appreciate you advice about this forecast. Do you agree with this forecast? Which regions/countries of the world do you see best to invest in over the next 5-10 years? In Portfolio Analytics, what rates of return are you using for each geographic region/country to forecast the long-term expected return for a portfolio?

The CPPIB is now invested 90% outside of Canada. What are your views for an individual investor? Should individual investors be taking a similar position, and having most of their portfolio invested globally?

Thank you again for your excellent advice, and this wonderful service.

Q: I know that 5i has not generally recommended these split corp funds but I would like your take in this scenario. We know they bottom when asset value drops below an acceptable number and this has occurred. I recall years ago the same thing happened and yields disappeared and values plummeted. When the market bounced back however each roughly doubled and paid lucrative dividends until of course the next major downturn. My question given that we all expect new highs some day, is whether these would not be nice tuck ins today that will eventually appreciate if not double and begin paying great dividends?
