Q: Franco Nevada is my only gold holding. Down ~15% on it. I want to add more to gold, should i add more to FNV or is there a better gold stock you like more? How is FNV priced in terms of P/E or whatever ratios you think are most relevant and how does that look vs peers?

I was thinking just the actual gold ETF, but i think a miner would have more torque iuf gold prices rise. I like the royalty model

Q: The buyback program was started on January 2024. Do you see the dividend raising too. Does it have a strong natural gas play to enhance their revenue once the natural gas price increase. Will Transmountain pipeline and LNG pipeline comes on line will increase their revenue. All the points I mention above, will the stock have a re-rating.

Q: Hello 5i
I know the policy is to stay invested through thick and thin. In the past with some companies I was up thousands. I started to see the price per share decrease but 5i wrote to "keep going we will see what happens". By the time 5i got around to throwing in the towel I was down thousands. After, when a company started to go belly up I listened to my gut and got out before 5i gave up the ghost. I saved several thousand by doing that. NOW, with PBH, I am up several thousand. Though the metrics still look good, I want to take my winnings before a disaster happens, however I will still keep the principal invested in PBH.
Question: does this sound like a plan or should I still keep fully invested in PBH?

Q: Good afternoon,

Long-term holder of SIS and barely above water. It seems like the potential has always been there, and decent div, but based off of some of your recent comments I'm wondering if a switch to ATS may make sense - both industrials, yes no Div (but growth trumps div's), and it actually appears ATS is cheaper than SIS on PE (though not on P:book).

3-5 years out, which do you feel has more potential to outperform the other? Thanks in advance. - Jeff

Q: When borrowing money to invest in stocks, can etfs holding US companies such as VGG, ZDY, ZUD etc be used with the borrowed funds and the interest still be considered deductible for tax purposes? Or do they have to be income producing Canadian stocks or etfs.
Thank you

Q: 5i’s Income Portfolio:
You’ve stated elsewhere that this portfolio targets a 4 to 5% income and 6 to 8% return….thats easy to understand.

What is not clear to me is the rationale behind the composition of the portfolio. Sector weightings, for example, do not conform to advice provided elsewhere.

Would you please explain the composition, or point me at a place where you have already done so.

Q: I have enough funds to add a half position. Which of the following options would prefer today:
1)Top up LMN to 5%
2)Start a new position in CSU
3) Start a new position in TRI
4) Start a new position in TVK
5)Divide funds between LMN and HPS.A , bringing each up to around 4.4%
Looking for growth with moderate risk. Thank you.

Q: I want to spend the next 14 months growing my TFSA to pay down my mortgage when it comes due in June 2025. I started this quest about 6 months ago with 20% of the funds, and I'm now about halfway there. I have funds in US for 6 positions, and Canadian for 3, and currently own the above stocks. I haven't yet made my TFSA contribution for 2024, so could add a position to either. Keeping in mind the remainder of my portfolio is well balanced (cash account and RRSP) and this is a 14-month growth mission, do you see anything I should sell, or can you recommend something I should buy?

Q: What are some of the negative outlooks of GWO? Is it worth investing in as of today and if so is it primarily for the dividend or growth? And how come lots of analysts are reiterating a hold? What insurance company would you recommend over GWO?
