Q: Qtrade stated in an email to me that they did not receive enough shares to round everyone up so they sold the half shares & gave us cash , $32.32, in lieu of the rounding up as is standard in these cases.

Q: New Member Question: GoldSpot Discoveries is a unique play in gold, AI - fee for service and royalty income. What does your analysis indicate for the medium and long term prospects of this company?
Q: Hi Peter and team, I would like your thoughts about having these 2 stocks for long term. Do you prefer one to the other?
Q: Hi I appreciate your service greatly. I realize the new clean fuel standard by the government is being digested by many, but I suspect 5i is reviewing the situation. A couple of questions. For a company such Parex (PXT) which produces and sells in a foreign land, will this have any effect? Would this encourage a company such as Vermillion(VET) to shed Canadian production and concentrate on its foreign holding? and perhaps reincorporate in a foreign jurisdiction?

While we are not scared of high valuation stocks we prefer to do this on more-reasonably priced companies in case the entire market rolls over.
i have to ask what specific companies you might have in mind?

Q: I know you don’t have a crystal ball but might this be the time to consider shifting sectors from technology to Clean energy. In this case my question would be shifting from XLK (up over 50 %) to TAN and the solar energy components. Thoughts ?
Q: The answer given to your client who has an account with TD sounds like a load of crap. They make it sound like they were paid in cash. They were given the total number of shares allotted to them to be distributed to each client account.
The way they put it , if the total number of shares they held in trust was odd, they would have received just one extra share. So where did the cash come from that was paid out for each half share? Need a lawyer to figure this out. Above my pay grade.

Q: Hi Guys
I have owned Atco in the past, and at one point replaced it with Emera that I have done well with too. I noticed today that although they have approx. the same PE, and dividend yield (both yielding about 4.7%) the payout ratio on Atco is only 36% versus 85% for Emera. I was thinking if there was an opportunity to capture a bit of value, and stock appreciation going forward I might swap my Emera for Atco. Your thoughts? Which company do you favour at this time?
Thanks
Stuart

Q: I would like to add some coverage in semi conductors. What are your thoughts on these stocks? Is investing in the ETF a better bet? Any valuation concerns with SMH? Do you have other suggestions that are not overvalued?
Q: Good morning, The year end once again brings us the many different opinions as to what lies ahead in 2021. I have read several analysts giving their overweight and underweight suggestions and am struck by the fact that some are overweight financials and utililies and others are underweight. With so many different opinions, I believe one has to choose who makes sense and once again, I choose you. In terms of sector weightings what does your crystal ball say? Of course it can vary, whether one is income or growth focused but with that caveat in mind, what do you think? Thanks
