Q: I am concerned about 30% of my holdings being in IT and would like to reduce perhaps by half and cover some other sectors for balance. (Just read your year-end article about predicting 2021 - perhaps you would not be concerned about 30% going forward)
What order might you trim / sell these to raise cash?
Much thanks for steering us through a year full of uncertainty.

Q: Happy New Year.

According the article in the link below, BPY.UN generated year to date funds from operation (FFO) of just $665 million while paying close to $1.541 billion in interest. I saw a fairly recent Youtube interview with Bruce Flatt, and he seemed quite upbeat on Brookfield's overall outlook going forward. How much of a concern is this FFO/Interest ratio to your team?

Thanks.

Q: Hello all - Happy New Year to everyone in the 5i universe!

This is not a question per se, more just a follow up comment to Adam's question of Dec. 29/20 asking about withdrawing $C from TFSA and then immediately replacing with $USD. Adam implied some "technical" or broker issues impeding his plan - perhaps just the length of time the bank/brokerage requires for settlement.
I do not see any reason he might not consider using Norbert's Gambit within the TFSA (if the TFSA is any different than an RRSP for performing this transaction, please let me know). The exercise can be completed for the most part within one day other than the actual settlement date of T+2. As long as one knows that and acts accordingly, one should be able to achieve the desired result.
I use N.G. when required within our RRSP's (RBC Direct Investing) and have found it to be fast, convenient and cost-effective as long as I perform it properly, paying attention to some of the little details that they warn you about.
If any of the foregoing is in error or if I have misconstrued his question/goal, please feel free to correct me as required and I apologise in advance.
Best to all in 2021!! Stay safe and well!!
Cheers,
Mike

Q: Hi 5i,
I've recently seen a market summary which indicates that over both the past 3 months and the past year the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index has outperformed each of the S&P/TSX Composite Index, the DJIA, the Standard & Poors 500 and even the NASDAQ, significantly.
Accordingly, I'm wondering if there are ETFs that track the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index exclusively and, if so, what your comments are about them?
Thanks,
Peter

Q: With oil looking like it may come back I would appreciate your opinion on 4 US oil related companies that I am down on. I am not so convinced that they can come back or even survive but I would really appreciate your opinion on them.
Thank you and Seasons Greetings to you! James
