Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: How do you view this company's prospects and current valuation? While analysts expectations appear to have been on the rise in recent weeks the price has been soggy for some while, and I cannot determine the basis for the share price appreciation seen beginning in early 2018 through Q3 2019. The company's prospects seem now in question despite apparent growth in the underlying demand for their services.

Q: If one were to take a position in SNOW, is this as good a place as any to jump in? ... around $230ish or should one wait for the steam to settle?

I read your other response, and have done a bit of due diligence, but quite frankly I'm "lost in the clouds" when it comes to these mega-techs. I know that they take a life all their own, valuations be damned, it seems and such stocks become runaways before the valuation catches up.

Would it be worth a full/half/quarter position in a well diversified portfolio. This is my "looking at the future" stock.

Q: Good morning
I like that FRU does not have direct exploration and production risk, and was considering FRU for 'safe' income and some growth in dividend and capital over time. The surprise resignation of the CEO gives one pause. Does 5i have any information on why Thomas Mullane resigned? Does 5i see underlying red flags here? How does 5i rate FRU's overall position in the industry for 'safe' income and some growth in an industry under pressure?
Thank you.

Q: Hello 5i Team
Is there a readily available website listing the subordinated voting shares on the TSX?
With the recent takeover offer for Cogeco / Cogeco Communications, a spotlight has been shown on multiple voting / non-voting shares?
What is 5i opinion on whether multiple voting / non-voting shares are beneficial for the small retail investor?
This might be a suggestion for a blog entry similar to Canadian companies paying US dollar dividends.
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i Team:

I have about 2% of RCI.B in my portfoilio, and it seems keep going down. And I have lost some 20% of it. Should I take the loss? I also own GIB.A with a gain of 68%, I wonder if I should take the gain on this one.

Please take enough points for my questions.
Thank you.

Q: ON 11 September I asked you to recommend several Canadian listed health care stocks, which you provided, thank you. I should also have asked you if you agree with David Rosenberg that this category of stocks could be "the next big stock market winners"?

Q: In the balanced portfolio, there are 25 Companies. Of these companies, which do you anticipate raising or restoring their dividends, and which companies do you feel are ripe for M&A, either way, to buy or be bought?

I see that TFII has been active, as well as SIS raised the dividend by 4.3% yesterday.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the insight.
