Q: Hi 5i: I am presently underweight financials ( TD - 6% ). Which of these would you add BNS, SLF or GSY? Would you add a combination of all? What is the market weight for financials and would now be a suitable time to add?
Thank you for my success!

Q: I have a CCP corp (10-year time line) with the following holdings (high to low mrt value + $60K cash): ENB, AQN, ATD, SU, BAM, GC, LSPD, XBC, REAL, GUD, BEPC, CAE, BNS, CSU, ENGH, SLF, PHO, XGD, WELL, GOOS, QST, AC, BEP.UN, KXS, DOC.VN, MITK, ATZ, SYZ, DOO. To reduce tax liabilities, I plan to slowly sell off any high yielding stocks (eg ENB) and only hold buy-and-forget stocks with very low or no dividend or buy corp class ETFs like HXT, HXS, HXQ. Can you please recommend what current stocks you see as long term "keepers" and suggest any new CAN or US stocks or ETFs. Many thanks for your help!!!!

Q: I have been lucky with MS which I accumulated during periods when many analysts seemed to misunderstand the poor thing. MS has become a full position. However when reviewing some analyses following MS’ recent results, opinions read as if they were written by bipolar CFAs. Views seem too divided for me to base a decision on. Is it time for me to trim MS —or best to ignore the noise and keep holding. Please do give your reasoning and I would appreciate very much your updating your response to my September 2, 2020 question on MS.
Q: There seems to be lots of buzz in the media lately about dividend stocks being hit hard when inflation/interest rates rise. What are your thoughts on this? Isn't this just short term noise for the long term dividend investor.
Q: Hi 5i Team - It is my understanding that most of the Canadian start-up technology companies are going with private funding rather than public, resulting in a scarcity of technology companies to invest in on the TSX or Vancouver Exchange. First, could you comment on the accuracy of this assessment. Secondly do you know of any such companies that are available to the general public for investment or may be planning an IPO over the next year. This would not include more established companies such as LSPD, KXS or of course SHOP. Thanks again for all your advice over the years. Your service has been invaluable over these years and continues to be so.

Q: Hello,
I am looking into ETFs in Canada to compliment the portfolio I have created with your model portfolios, profiles and question support. I may be out to lunch, but my thought is to purchase some ETFs to diversify my investments. Is that smart? I currently am planning to move funds from a questrade managed portfolio, and either add it to my customized portfolio or to invest in ETFs. I appreciated reading your ETF and Mutual Fund newsletter and am considering some of the broad etfs, however I am against investing in the energy sector. Also interested in expanding my clean energy or ESG sector with another ETF. Do you have suggestions? Curious about ESGY?
Thanks for your guidance!
Please take off 3 questions.
Thanks,
Ellen

Q: Hello, from a peace of mind perspective, what happens to an ETF or mutual fund if the company selling it goes out of business or decides to close the instrument ? Do the underlying stocks get sold and dispersed to the mutual fund holders ?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Q: What ETF would you suggest for a non-registered account for a higher risk tolerance with emphasis on growth and a 10 year minimum timeline ? VGRO/XGRO sound good but the dividend yields seem low to really take advantage of the dividend tax credit.
Q: While just about everything is taking a beating today, DOC is up over 8% today on more than twice the average daily volume......Any news? I'm not seeing anything.

Q: Hi Team
this stock is going up in the last few weeks
approaching $ 60 which could be a new time high
are there any news such as earnings ? or favorable reports?
is it too expensive to jump in? it pays a nice dividend while one waits
Buy more or sell or Hold ?
thanks for the great work

Q: PLX is an Israeli Bio co. not showing in your system.
I bought a small position 6 months ago as I am very interested in the diseases they are working to try to alleviate and potentially cure. It has gone up in price nicely this week after company update to shareholders.
Would appreciate your views. Is this a hold or worth buying more at this stage. John.
