Q: I need to increase my Global ETF or ETFs (ex- North America) exposure. I currently have some VIU but am wondering if I should consider a couple geographic areas: Europe, Asia, Japan etc. My preference would be something I can hold in CAD non-hedged and preferred non covered call.

Q: Hi 5i team,
There seems to be a lot of M&A activity brewing these days, especially in U.S. tech. AMD is in the process of acquiring XLNX and this morning there are reports that MRVL is close to buying IPHI. What are some other potential candidates that likely won’t be around this time next year as they will be acquired. I know you mention DOCU regularly but what are some other likely names?
Thanks again.

Q: Hi team:

about 2 years ago, when CVE was around $ 15, it was a top pick by a BNN
market call speaker who I think is a conservative investor in general; he thinks that it has good value and pays a dividend to wait

the company HSE that was bought by CVE now was trading around $ 25 plus over ten years ago too and paid a dividend for the investors

The less than ideal outcome of the CVE stock ( has suspended dividend if I am correct) does reflect the general outlook for the Canadian energy stocks;

but after the last Fed election, one of the natural gas company just moved the head
office to the USA, the dividend paid out from what I understand no longer qualified for the dividend tax advantage

I wonder if CVE might be the next Canadian energy company to re-locate South of the border ? I also share the deep pain of the workers for the CVE who got laid off after the merger that no longer have a job

I wonder if it is a Value trap stock ?
thanks
Michael

Q: I have read your cautions on investing in shares in this company. Have you any different opinion, or additional thoughts, with respect to their 5-year 6% green bond issue? These would seem to be suitable as a component of an investor's bond holdings? I imagine it would depend to a large extent on the safety of the assets of the underlying company being invested in by RE?

Q: Hi,

I have a very small spec position in Bitfarms who secure cheap power and lease state of the art computing power to mine bitcoin. They promote their good "mining margin" and "mining profit" (non-IFRS measures) however they still show a net loss (Q2 2020). Could you give a non-accountant like me the readers digest version of where all the money vanishes between the "mining profit " and the net loss. Also, your view on future prospects for BITF would be appreciated. I am up 40% on a small investment - take the money and run or does this thing have the potential to be one of those 2 or 3x home runs? I feel compelled to add that I believe my #1 investing mistake is selling too soon. Perhaps more than 1 question so deduct as required,

Q: Seems to me that we are a turning point in our world today. What with the problems the pandemic faces us with and those connected to climate change I think we are in need of some truly innovative companies that are dedicated to solving these kinds of serious problems. My question is, do you know of any ETFs that are focussed on companies with innovative ideas that will help to solve problems? I guess I'm looking for an "Innovation" ETF . If this is not possible, could you suggest a number of companies dedicated to innovative ways to help solve these kinds of problems.

Q: Hi there, is it time to get on the BUS, and go for a nice long ride? Momentum and volume look great, maybe a large order finally on the horizon for them? Insiders are buying!
Regarding QTRH, a lot of shares are being purchased, for cancellation by the company? Will this reflect well for their 3Q release coming soon, based on their per share numbers? Momentum and volume look good here too!
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
