Q: The Canadian pipelines had a bit of a dip on Wednesday. Is this share price decline related at all to the hurricane in the US? If so, how will the hurricane impact business for the Canadian pipelines, as a whole?

Thanks.

John

Q: I want some information on Liquid Alternative funds. I believe they would add diversification to my portfolio of stocks and bonds. I would consider 10% weighing as they are more risky. What mutual funds or ETFs would be suitable to invest in this category for a DIY investor (through a discount broker ) ? I would be looking for consistent performance and good track record.

Q: Hi 5i Team!
Based on your opinion back in Feb 2020, I have included growth names like KXS, REAL, DOO, QST, GSY and LSPD in my TFSA. Although these stocks were added prior Pandemic, all of them recovered except QST and I made over 5-7% already. Thanks for your valuable advise.
While in RRSP, I have ACB, CAE and LNR at 5% position, ENB at 20% position and CNQ over 60% position. I am down ~35% on average on these stocks. Is the correct thing to do is sell and balance out my RRSP portfolio or should I be waiting for recovery period for these down stocks. I would appreciate your counsel on this. I have ~25K room left on RRSP. Can you give me 5 names that you feel are good to have for next 3-5 years in. What companies would you suggest are the best positioned to take advantage of projected growth both US and Canadian.

Thanks for your help!

Q: Is BAM.A eligible for the dividend tax credit? I looked online and had a hard time deciphering everything. Which account is the best place for it?

Q: Some questions about REAL recently. If I have this straight, REAL is in the business of mortgage lending, re-finance and appraisals. All necessary components for any real estate transaction. Considering the robust real estate market that has only become more busy in 2020 and not less, why the downward pressure on REAL? Simply profit taking?

It seems to me that they are well positioned to have a blow-out year and we should al be buying.

I have a 1% position in REAL and am considering doubling it for a 2-5 year hold with high short term (6-12 month) expectations. Reasons to not do this include?
