Q: Hi team!

I see today on Cision that Infosys has won some new contracts and named a Digital Process leader.
Last question on this company was in 2017.
What are your thoughts these days?
Most of their 'Key Ratios' from your Companies page seem to reflect things are moving in the right direction, ie ROE, ROC. Their 3, 6, 12 and 36 month '% change' charts support this as well with gradual upwards trajectories.
If newly purchased in a balanced portfolio, should it belong to an RRSP, TFSA or non-registered. They do provide a US $ dividend so I assume RRSP.

In keeping with the 'all things Digital' theme, are their other companies you prefer that would be key (ie leaders) in leading the digital transformation? (There was a question asked on Sept 28 about 'disrupters'...not sure if these might be classified into this category).

Keep up the excellent work for us small DIY investors!!!

Cheers,
SteveMC

Q: Are you confident in semi's now? How would you rank amat, lrcx, photon? Any other pick-and-shovel plays you prefer? Do you prefer individual semi makers or an etf to these 3. Thanks.

Q: I have just sold ENB to realize a capital loss and replaced it with 50% TRP and 50% PPL.
When the 30 day period has elapsed and considering capital preservation and yield over 3+ years; would you reverse the trade and buy back ENB or just continue to hold TRP and PPL.

Many thanks.

Q: Hi 5i team,
I have a small position (2%) in XLNX. I keep a foothold in a few tech stocks where takeover rumours have surfaced in the past. Citi doesn't think Xilinx management will agree to an acquisition by AMD due to the company's dominant position in the high-margin programmable logic device market. The Citi analyst also speculates that Qualcomm made a bid for XLNX a few years ago that was turned down. What do you think the odds are of the AMD bid happening shortly and the chances of another bidder emerging?
Thanks again for the insight.

Q: I do not own these 8 companies from the balanced portfolio and I do have some money to invest. I already have a reasonably well balanced portfolio (except overweight in tech). Dividends are nice but not that important. Is there one you would consider a particularly interesting buy with a timeline of 5 years? Could you rank the top3?

Q: Peter,

I own Atco, Algonquin Power, Fortis, Canadian Utilities , Emara and Brookfield Infrastructure. My concern is I am missing out on the renewables / green space companies. In the utility space what other recommendations you would give to ensure I am covered.

Thank you
Paul

Q: The solar subsector seems to be getting a lot of attention and company valuations are going up. This is on par with the renewables trend we are seeing. Do you have any pure solar picks in the US or Canada or are you only playing the larger infrastructure companies that may own some solar farms? What are your top picks? Thx

Q: Thank you for your advice during the current Covid 19 world . I followed it and as a result have weathered it fairly well.... This brings me to what I thought was a good investment pre Covid 19 and what I think is good now..... FIH.U has taken close to a 50% drop and I can definitely see why.... India's headwinds in battling the virus are large and with their population and crowded demographics. It is going to be a tough battle ..... This brings me to the parts of FIH.U ..... For each of the companies invested in how does 5I view their short and mid term prospects ? Using the four largest positions would be adequate for analysis .....For example I know Bangalore airport will survive but it might be a while before there is sufficient air travel to be in the black . And the IIFL investment and it's value going forward confuse me... There was quite a bit of controversy on the company for a while ... ......Also what is their cash position to accumulate businesses in this environment ? And at the end of the last quarter book value was in excess of $14.00 ... Would that still be an appropriate assessment of book value in this Covid 19 environment ? And in relation to it's current gap between price to book does 5I view it as good value ? .... Thank you for the steady advice you have been giving us during this pandemic ......
