Q: Hello 5i Team
Now that Sandpiper has reorganized the board of ARTIS, will appoint a new CEO effective January 01, 2020 and will proceed with their 100 day plan, I have the following questions:
1 – Is ARTIS REIT at the current price $10.89 a reasonable price to pay, provided ARTIS/Sandpiper can complete their 100 day plan and hopefully realize Sandpiper’s estimated NAV at $15.40?
2 – Are any of the three outstanding ARTIS preferred units (AX-PR-A, AX-PR-E and AX-PR-I) a better way to play this story?
3 – Any thoughts on other Canadian REITS that could be put into play by activist investors, given most of the undervalued REITs are majority controlled by the parent corporation (Melcor REIT, Morguard REIT etc.).
Thanks

Q: Hi

The Globe and Mail mentioned potential Cloud investment ideas today. CLOU-Q, WCLD-Q, SKYY and a new Canadian name DATA-T. I currently own Microsoft which gives me some Cloud exposure. I am wondering what your opinion would be to invest in this space?

Q: Can you comment on any recent insider buying or selling for GUD. E.g. has the CEO bought any large chunks? I am curious if there has been some insider purchasing/selling either before or after the shelf filing. If there has been buying, what do you think are the odds that there might be an acquisition in the works. I bought GUD at $5 and am trying to decide whether to hold, sell, or top up. Because everything else in my portfolio has done so well this year (all fantastic 5i suggestions), GUD has decreased to 1.3% of total holdings.

Q: I recently purchased Qualcomm as it seems to be a frequent recommendation of 5i's.
I'm around the break even point at this time due to its decline on Friday after news came out about Apple making its own chips, replacing those of Qualcomm.
This represents about 11% of their revenue.
Do you still recommend holding the stock or switch to something like Nvidia?

Q: Peter and Team:
I realize that preferred shares are not high on your agenda, however,
I would appreciate whatever you could offer as an explanation. The CWB pr.d trades near or above the issue price while the others trade
at a steep discount. I realize it is a minimum rate reset, but there
must be other factors which influence such a disparity in price. Thanks,
Ben.

Q: We are 100% fully of the view that a great company is going to be a good investment, long term, despite whatever the market does.
Re your response above to Antonio.

Thank you, I have over the few years of reading your answers taken this idea to heart and am now much more comfortable with market or company moves.. I sleep well at night and have avoided some emotional market mistakes as a result.
So thank you again and good holiday to everyone.
