Q: I bought BX pre-pandemic and held on , thinking that its significant investments in real estate would bottom and share price would again climb. That didn’t happen. I have been trimming my holding in BX but still hold a half-position. I stopped reducing, now again thinking that perhaps long-duration assets owned by BX would become more valuable. Do you think this is true? Or, do you think an investor is much better off to deploy cash into KKR or some other private equity? (US companies only).

Kindly give your insightful reasons, skipping the obvious please.
Thank you! :ao:

Q: My grandchild is turning 20 in the fall and entering the work force, has no knowledge on investing. We are going to get him to start a Tax Free Savings Account with $2,00.00 original investment then encourage him to add $50.00- $100.00/ month there after. Untill he becomes more interested in learning more about investing we are thinking of starting with a dividend paying ETF or fund, any suggestions on a few ETF's or funds

Q: Good morning 5i team,

In a press release, Galaxy announced that its affiliate, Galaxy Asset Management, ("GAM"), reported preliminary assets under management of $6.2 billion as of May 31, 2024. The 9.8% increase in preliminary AUM compared to the prior month was primarily driven by market appreciation partially offset by the continued successful liquidation of assets associated with an ongoing opportunistic mandate. Can you please shed some light on " continued successful liquidation of assets associated with an ongoing opportunistic mandate". How does this 'oppertunistic mandate help/hurt GLXY, if at all.

Thanks as always

Dave

Q: I am considering starting a position in First National Financial Corp., Canada. It is dealing with mortgage financing with a healthy yield around 6%. Information that I have found indicates 70% ownership by principal owners so that liquidity may not be great. Is this company worth adding to an income focused portfolio? My other financials are Canadian banks, BN, BAM, AD,UN
