Q: I had a GIC come due last week in my RRIF, which is managed by an advisor.
They advised buying a bond fund, Dynamic Edge Conservative Class A, MER is 1.89%. What do you think about this fund, it is a fund of funds?
What would you suggest ( for a senior) as an alternative. The amount $30,000.00. The GIC rate is about 1%.
I value your opinion.
Shirley
I really value your advice, as I am a senior

Q: Hello Peter,
I thought Electrovaya's numbers were decent and yet stock sold off. Was this sell on good news and do you think it has potential in energy space? I have small position on Xebec but was wondering to raise to full position as opposed to buying Greenlane for diversification? Also, any reason why Enwave is chugging higher as your previous comments were not that positive. What has changed? Finally, is it too late to enter Shopify? i am sort of glad to have held onto blackberry and finally got a bit of pay off today.. I am just wondering if Knight may do same in the future by surprising the market with good news (I know one cannot forecast but based on its history as a company it has not done much.). Thank you.

Q: Good morning,
Looking to add TSU to my TFSA. It is more expensive than other insurers but seems to be more of a growth story than the others that I consider more as income stocks. They have had good results and the outlook still indicates further growth. Can you provide a few more details on this company? Do you know management or background?
Hard to find growth that is not TECH.
Thanks

Q: I read this is an article from Matterhorn Asset Management:

"Your best friend and protector in this ignominious company of bubble assets and falling currencies are precious metals in the form of physical gold and silver.

But please ignore PAPER gold and silver (including ETFs) which one day will be worthless."

I hold both both of these funds in approximately equal percentages. Should holding my precious metals via Sprott alleviate any concerns I should have about the investment becoming "worthless"?

Q: Good morning - what would be your choices in the real estate and consumer defensive sectors at this time ( for long term holds)? I am concerned about the near term future for retail real estate ( i had a long career in retail realty) as well as for the longer term of office realty. Apartments and Industrial look more appealing and I currently hold IIP, Dream Industrial. Add more, or diversify, maybe to Granite? I have very little in Consumer Defensive. As always, thanks.

Q: I have looked at REAL recently with the idea of investing in the company. What gives me pause is that the company shares have been in a steady down slope for the past 4 months and insider selling has been non stop over this period. Given this, especially the insider selling , could you please provide rationale for buying shares when people in the know have been steadily selling their shares. Thanks

Q: Titan is trading extremely high volumes without any available information other the Q3 report. Could this be trading by personnel with insider information. What is your opinion. Is there any information that your team might have on Titan regarding this possible large increase in share price.

Q: 5I team - I have marvelled today at the quality of your answers to questions and, in particular, options questions. Great job. My question is on methodology of "optimizing" covered call strategies and would request any reference you may have available in addition to a response.I have held MRNA and sold 109 Dec covered calls, purchased the calls when the stock went to 129, resold 125 Dec CC and am now trying to develop a strategy with the stock at 149. Is the simple and. most effective process to buy the calls back and place a stop loss position short of the current price? Again, if you have a reference to provide options in dealing with this, it would be much appreciated. Thank you
