Q: Hi 5i,

Please kindly comments the above stocks (FTS, SU, ENB, KEY) in oil related sector, I am thinking to invest for 1-2 years, kindly to rank the risk and potential in coming future. Should I keep all of them or may suggest to take off one? Perhaps I should consider FTS more on utility rather than oil related? Thanks for your advise.

Q: Hello 5i
I have a 5 year GSC ladder in my TFSA with $10,000 dollars a year. Each year I get about $1000 to $1300 inerest and turn over the principle. In my TFSA I also have the growth stocks of Lightspeed and Leon's which make up 6% of my equity. The rest, as a value investor primarily are mostly dividend paying blue chip in a well diversified, balanced portfolio 60% equities 40% cash and bond ETF's. I am 73 with good pension.
My question is: Should |I keep the GSC ladder which is a warm, fuzzy security blanket or by stuff like SHOP and NVIDIA or other suggested growth stock?

Q: Hi 5i
Bitcoin is a real head scratcher for me. I can't see why anyone would use it as a form of payment considering stories like "that pizza purchase years ago is the equivalent of millions in todays value" or "I have a couple of password tries left before my disk is encrypted and my millions are lost forever" ... so there's goes the asset / store of value argument. Maybe I'm getting old but I just don't get it (having said that I bought a small amount of ether and ripple as a learning exercise a few years back and still hold it ).
In any case, the real question is with more etfs/companies piling into bitcoin related investment, if it were to grow to such an extent as to be bubble territory and subsequently experience a severe pop, would it have any side effects on the rest of the market or specific sectors of the market do you think? i.e. would it ever be anything to be concerned about ?
Thanks
Mike

Q: How does no generally get information on convertible debentures? For Chemtrade Logistics I looked at their website but when you click on the link you go to another website ,but the detailed information (Not sure if I should can it the prospecus?!) is still not listed. Do I have to contact Investor Relations of Chemtrade and ask for the prospectus? Is there a general rule of thumb on when interest on a debenture is paid or does it depend on each individual issue? I am interested in looking for some higher yielding debit instruments, is that a good option? If not, where should one look to get ideas? (Please discount as many questions frommy allotment that you think is warranted.)

Q: Hello 5i
LAC has been doing rather well lately and I've managed to let it run. I expect an increase in volatility and am wondering just how long and how far the market will take LAC. Would you like to hazard a guess ?
Any opinion on taking a little off the table or holding for a while longer? The position is growing but obviously that's not a bad thing !
Thanks
Mike

Q: You answered Nick's question by saying it would be better to wait until the RRSP turned into a RRIF. So what's the tax rate for removing a stock from a RRIF? I am about to take some SHOP from my RRIF for annual withdrawal. The stock is up 394 per cent.
