Q: Hi 5i team,

Was looking at the Kinaxis Company Profile page on your web site in anticipation of KXS upcoming earnings report on May 5.
There is a huge divergence in the Q1, Q2, FY1 and FY2 wrt the 90/60 vs the 30, 7 and Current consensus EPS estimates.
Can you please explain the reason for the divergence? Was this simply due to their lowered guidance after their last Q release?
It seems like this is setting up for some major disappointment ahead wrt EPS changes.
Is this already reflected in the current stock price?
What is Kinaxis track record for meeting/beating guidance?
I assume the stock is a hold until on or after May 5 and perhaps buy into any weakness in anticipation of some new meaningful contracts in 2021?

Cheers,
Steve

Q: Good Day

I am reading the voting information regarding the proposed take over and I am interested in the meaning of "Shareholders (other than the Shaw Family Shareholders) will be entitled to receive, for each Share held, $40.50 in cash, without
interest, less applicable withholdings"; particularly the part "less applicable withholdings". What does this statement mean?

Thank you

Q: Hello Folks:
No one can predict markets, however with the S&P and Dow close to records I would think upside less likely than downside.
Consequently we have sold Deere and Cat at good profit as their PE ratios make it difficult understanding where much upside can be achieved.

We have a 7% position with Amazon, In your view would you keep this position or sell one half on the basis of being able to replace at a much lower future downturn price, or would you leave it alone.

Do you feel because of these inflated PE ratios one should raise some cash for a future downturn?

I am always am aware of the old adage that one's stock portfolio is like a bar of soap; the more you rub it the smaller it gets.

Thanks again for your great service

Q: Hello 5i,
I have a general question regarding the P/E ratio in Portfolio Analytics. Do you have a "rule of thumb" about when that ratio tips a stock from being a value stock- i.e. relatively low P/E to "normal" or "average" to one which has become "high risk" due to an elevated P/E ratio? Is there a range within a sector or is it complete individual per equity based on other (unknown to me) considerations?
To specify, in terms of the P.A. P/E, my portfolio ranges from <-5.7 & -2.7> for BIPC and BEPC respectively and then proceeds in a range of gradation to EIF at 48.7, WSP at 51.4 and PBH at 55.9.
At what point do I look at these numbers from the perspective of "actionable" information?
I can totally see where this might be far too complex to answer in a question so if you can point out any specific resources that might help, that would be great.
Many thanks!!
Cheers,
Mike

Q: Supposing the US enacts an effective climate change policy, shouldn't gas do better than oil/coal/tarsands, etc? If so, who among Canadian energy processors/transporters should realize the greatest benefit?

Q: Greetings 5i,

Tesla just reported Q1. Trading down even though it looks like Elon beat expectations. Some controversy on Seeking Alpha regarding what alalysts were expecting vs realistic expectations. So lots of varied opinions and Tesla is down about 9 or 10%. Im still up about 15% as Im recently in, but I dont hold alot of conviction in this name vs something with more of a realistic valuation such as Berkshire or Sunlife/Manulife or maybe even one of the Brookfield subs. So a 2 part question. What does 5i think of this quarter and Tesla overall. Would you switch to one of the above mentioned names or hold for another quarter and re-evaluate?

As always take as many credits as required.

Cheers!
