Q: I’m hopeful that 5i can help with sector rebalancing in our combined accounts. Portfolio Analytics currently indicates that Technology is now 20.85% of our portfolio, but recommends a target of 16%.

Of course, this is due to 5i’s recommendation of CSU, which in turn led to positions in LMN and TOI. We’re certainly grateful for this!

In addition to the three stocks cited above, we also have positions in these ETFs, followed by the percentage weighting in the Technology sector:
XCS - 4.68%
VEF - 10.37%
VFV - 33.77%

Is this overweight position in Technology something we should be concerned about? If this was your portfolio, what would you do? We are seniors (76 and 81), and both of us have defined benefit pension plans.

Thanks as always for your insight.

Q: Hi 5i team,
My question is on Critical Illness Insurance and Long Term Care Insurance. Please comment on their usefulness as part of financial planning for retirees. Are there particular features to look for or to avoid when shopping for these kinds of insurance? Is going through an independent insurance broker the best way? Any links to articles on this subject that you can provide, including from Canadian Money Saver, would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Q: Hello ,I became familiar with various US ETF in different styles ,they represent now 70% of my RRSP US portfolio .I know that the risk is "supposingly" higher with stocks .I own 7 high quality US large Cies stocks that perform well.I wish to invest in some more US individual dividend stocks that you would consider at low risk , enough to hopefully avoid considering selling them in the future.Could you name and rank,if possible 7 US stocks that would meet those criterias..thanks to your excellent team J-Y

Q: Dear Peter et al:

Thanks to your persistent AND consistent faith in some of your high conviction stocks, my portfolio has done well! I just renewed my 5i Bundle subscription! (Your favourite pick BN alone paid for a few years worth of subscriptions!) My only request is to "fix" the search function in your ETF/MF Newsletter! Long over due my friend!!

I have asked this question several months ago and your answer once again proved VERY profitable! I had asked a few questions from different angles about NON-Correlated assets. Private Equity and Utilities and a few others ere mentioned by you. ALL of them are up till date!!

However at this current point in this cycle, post- election phase, how would you structure non-correlated assets? (To dampen my drawdown in Large caps/Tch/Financials etc., ) Any suggestions?

Q: Coal has proven very resilient in resisting climate change activism. Which positions, in addition to METCB, might be worth consideration, if any?
Thanks,

Q: Hello Peter,

At times you have stated "turnarounds seldom do" and I look at the future prospects of our Canadian economy thru that lens if the current gov't remains in power.
Could you list the sectors (and co's) that would be indifferent to and thrive in an imbecilic fiscal environment?

Thank you

Q: There seems to be a consistent view by 5i and others that Small and Mid Cap stocks have started to lead the market and will continue to do so over the next 2 to 3 years.

What are your current top 5 Small/Mid cap US and Cdn stocks? Could you also add what you think are good entry points?

Thank you;
Tim

Q: 1. What is the best Bitcoin and Ethereum Fund to Purchase to Invest in these 2 Crypto Currencies that are as closest to buying the actual currency on Netcoins , Coinbase, Etc

2. I have dealt with Netcoins and Coinbase in the past, but lately I am having issues dealing with them to purchase these currencies... They do not make it easy for me with their security features...
- Their websites and Apps dont give proper access to their services or how to access them to change settings... Especially Netcoins...
- Coinbase is troubling in the fact that you can only transfer funds back to Canadian or US dollars by using Paypal

3. Please provide answers & thoughts ...

4. I know this is not your main specialty, but I would appreciate your take on these questions and your overall opinion...

Thanks,

Q: As a member of 5i for approaching a decade, I would like to thank you for the great service that you provide. In reading member questions about a month ago, I stumbled across OKLO and after a bit of research bought a bit and ended up with a very quick double. (thank you to the member who asked a question about it!) After the quick run up, I'm wondering if there is still a long runway for growth with this company?

Also,

Along the same lines, I'm wondering if there are any companies that you are somewhat surprised about that do not receive many questions/attention from members?

Thank you again,
Mike
