Q: Happy New Year Peter and the 5i team! Thank you for another year of useful steady independent information flow to guide 5i members.

I am considering adding 5 large-cap or mid-cap Canadian sustainable dividend growth stocks that are currently under-valued in unloved sectors and now yielding at least 3%. MFC and SU stand out. What is your opinion about both as medium risk investments over the next 3-5 years?

In addition, please indicate your 3 best stock alternatives, and 3 best ETFs, in the medium risk large cap or mid-cap Canadian space with a solid record of dividend growth.

I realize this is a broad request so please deduct points as you deem appropriate.
Thank-you.

Q: Do you subscribe to the theory that it is good to wait for lockup periods to pass before buying shares in a new public company? I’ve listed a few newer stocks - do you happen to have the lockup period dates for these? Any other notable ones?

Q: I purchased some of these warrants a few weeks ago. They are convertible at $11.50/share.
I can't find if there is an expiration date for conversion anywhere. Do you know if there is and/or when the expiry date is?
While on this subject can you direct me to any public databases that list warrants and convertible debentures?

Q: BMO Notice about ZRE ETF reinvested distributions. Amount they quote is 1.05 on their web site.

TORONTO, Dec. 18, 2020 /CNW/ - BMO Asset Management Inc. and BMO Investments Inc. today announced the 2020 annual reinvested distributions for BMO Exchange Traded Funds (BMO ETFs) and ETF Series of the BMO Mutual Funds (ETF Series)1. These annual reinvested distributions generally represent realized capital gains and special income within the BMO ETFs and ETF Series, and are paid to unitholders, as required, to ensure that the BMO ETFs and ETF Series are not liable for ordinary income tax.

Unitholders of record at close of business on December 30, 2020 will receive the 2020 annual reinvested distributions. The actual taxable amounts, including the tax characteristics, will be reported in 2021.

Please note that the cash distributions will be reported separately and may be applicable to some ETFs and/or ETF series making annual reinvested distributions.

Q: Happy holidays to Peter and Ryan and the team!

In addition to the BE portfolio, I'm trying to ensure we have good international exposure. To cover that need, we so far have positions in OUSA, ZWE, and ZZZD (was really just parking cash here to get some yield without too much risk so happy to move out of this). I am thinking that exposure to the big internet names might be a good idea and was looking at OGIG. Of course, I worry adding this now will be buying the top. Any thoughts on the sector and the ETF? Any other thoughts for better international exposure?

Q: We purchased ARCT at $105 US and it has dropped 50% due to underwhelming results.
It jumped 10% yesterday. Should we consider dollar cost averaging?
How would you rank the vaccine stocks in terms of growth?
Thanks for a great year.

Q: AstraZeneca has approval for its vaccine which apparently has easier storage and transportability than its competitors vaccines. Also will be cheaper and therefore more available to the third world.
Your thoughts please on this company as an investment; they are of course involved in many other pharmaceuticals than just vaccines.
Many thanks
Happy New Year
Peter

Q: I own these stocks in my RRSP and would like to sell two, using the proceeds to buy them back in a US$ TFSA.Which two would you advise to make this switch?
