Q: how low do you think the two telcos can keep going. at over a 10 year low now and even the unbelievable dividend [if it is not cut] does not stop bloodbath from going on and on day after day.
Q: Hello 5i Team,
I was thinking about adding to my EMA position until I read last week's dividend growth forecast reduction to only 1% - 2% per year instead of its historical 4% increase. While the "going in" yield is attractive at over 6% now, would the reduction in dividend growth stop you from putting more money into this company's stock?
As an alternative, I was also considering adding to Keyera - lower initial yield, but dividend growth in the 4-5% range annually.
How would you compare these two in terms of payout ratio, debt management, and total return prospects over the long term?
Many thanks,
Brian

Q: I read an article in the paper today about something called the "Stable Dividend Portfolio". Basically it proposed that an investor select and hold the best dividend paying companies in Canada throughout the entire year. (Not buy in May and Go Away". Nor move back and forth from an emphasis on bonds to one on stocks. My questions are:
1. Have you heard of such a strategy and if so, do you agree with it?
2. What 12 Canadian companies would you select for such a portfolio?

Q: It seems to me that one one of the major themes going forward that we as investors must pay attention to is on-shoring or the re-industrialization of the United States and the western world. Please share with me some of the global and Canadian companies that should benefit if this trend continues. I'm interested in both individual companies and ETFs.
Q: Peter,
Very interesting article in the recent moneysaver about stock market history. What do you see as the chief reasons the Japanese stock market was down for so long a period of time.
Thanks

Q: Hello 5i,
I recently asked a question regarding icln , which as you mention, is an etf in clean energy area. I asked whether it might respond similarly to AQN and other stocks mentionned in the article you recently wrote on possibility for a rebound with changing rates.
I am interested in this etf, but the stronger possibility of Trump entering the Whitehouse, this time legitimately, worries me. If I can trust what I read, he has made deals with Big Oil and sees climate change as Woke propaganda. This makes me hesitant. How would you see a Trump presidency affecting this sector? although, if it affected the US sector, I imagine it would also affect the Canadian stocks, as well.
thanks for your great service

Q: I have two stocks in a registered account that seem to have stalled: J and HD. Both are up over time (J up 50%, HD 75%) but there hasn't been much movement lately. Given the absence of tax consequences, is it time to move on? And if yes, please provide two US industrials and two US consumer cyclicals to replace them. (AMZN already held.) Thank you.

Don't like the expense ratio.
Thank you.

Q: Hi, These two stocks are off their recent lows but still trading significantly below their 52 week highs. Based on your comments, their valuations are still attractive compared to the historic average and their peers. Are there any near term catalysts, in your view, which could propel the stocks higher, back to their glory ?
Thank You
