Q: Hi Team,
A couple different parts to this question. The "Geno" sector has exploded this year. Different hot names in the sector seem to be moving 10-20% daily. I have buddies now piling into these names now, so am wondering if maybey there's a "top" coming here soon? Or if you think this Euphoria will continue in the sector? To me it almost feels like gambling to try to buy in to these things right now. Also on this topic, can you briefly give your thoughts on what has made the Geno sector suddenly start to move this year? Its not like geno work is a new thing...or is it just hitting some major progress this year? Same can be said for the EV sector. For fear of "missing out" I am tempted to sell KXS out of my rsp for a slight gain as I hold this name in 2 different accounts to raise funds to buy EAGB (the canadian version of ARKG). My portfolio is currently heavy weighted tech and I currently have no Geno exposure. Is EAGB the best way for me to play this sector long term, or do you have any explosive individual GENO names you would recommend buying for a multi bagger possibility? I have heard BNGO has some good things coming its way? .....Or should I wait for a pullback in the massive run up before I think about doing this...or not at all? If I did buy EAGB I would probably buy and hold it for years as a way to play the sector. It does seem like there could be some major breakthroughs down the road in geno technology.

Q: How does a Canadian investor become part of a new US issue. POSH IPO investors were able to garner over 100% return on the first day of trading but I'm not aware how to become part of a US IPO.

Thanks!

Q: I would like a definition of a few words that are in the Asset Allocation & Other Statistics section of your portfolios, namely:
Active, upside capture of 2.40 vs 1, Down Semi-Std Dev. of 1.14% vs .60%.
I read the basic definitions in Investopedia and would like to know the relation between the data.

Q: I hold a position in FCR.UN. that was part of a real estate trio in an income portfolio. The other  "partners" are TCN and BPY.UN which was recently sold for tax harvesting purposes.
The question now is should I sell FCR.UN which is just slightly in a loss position?
If the suggestion is to be patient and hold, what other one should I purchase as part of a real estate trio, aka to replace BPY.UN?........Thanks.......Tom

Q: I have depended upon NUANce's voice recognition software for twenty years. Good product & continuously improved with each iteration (now at Version 15). But as an investment it has been a dog -- bumping around the 10-20 USD range year after year. With no dividend to compensate. Until the pandemic. Since Mar 20 of this year the stock climbed from $14 and is now hitting $50, and still growing. One other point: their main software product, Dragon NaturallySpeaking (renamed Dragon Professional), was -- for nearly a decade -- priced at an MSRP of $150 USD. This month that price jumped instantly to $500 USD. Bam! My Question: Please offer your opinion about the prospects for this company as a worthy investment vehicle over the next few years. Thanks.

Q: In a previous question relating to TRP, you wrote "Interest might come back to the name but with the poor momentum, we would prefer to wait for some sustained strength in shares before getting interested." How much emphasis do you put on momentum vs valuation? And with an increase in momentum, you would see an increase in the valuation. If you were a long term investor and believed in the company why not buy at a more attractive price?

Q: Hi 5i. I am interested in the lithium space. I have listed three stocks that I have found. Would you recommend this space and if so what would be your favourite? It doesn't have to be from my list.

Thanks again for your reasoned advice.

Q: Happy New Year to all of you.
With EV sector is getting hot day by day. Instead of chasing a particular EV company to invest, does that make sense that chips are required to build EVs? If that is true, which chip company (or companies) products are more involved? such as ....

Thanks,

Lin
