Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Looking at the chart of Propel. Since June 2024 consistent new monthly highs (of course with profit taking pull backs). But since the early November highs, the trend has changed, lower highs etc. this looks like a topping pattern to me. (I would say if it cannot break 40 very soon it is time to get out). While, of course, there can be many reasons for investors losing interest in a stock, the timing of the apparent reversal with the U.S. election seems too coincidental. May I ask as to whether 5i is aware of anything in the Propel business model which could be negatively affected by the Trump election? I am thinking maybe tariffs and their effect on interest rates etc.
Thanks as always
Neil

Q: All of these companies have really high debt levels, could you comment on their prospects and whether you would buy, hold or sell. Thanks!

Q: I understand that TUK is a smaller company, but I’m curious about its growth potential over the next 3-5 years. I’ve noticed that they recently raised capital and reported positive drilling results. Could you share any insights on the company’s inside ownership? Specifically, is the ownership level balanced?

I’m considering taking a small position in my TFSA and would appreciate your thoughts.

Q: Hi 5i,

All these questions about BCE and it's dividend has me worried about the other two in the industry. Could you comment on T and RCI's debt load, payout ratios, dividend sustainability, and earning growth rates?

Also, separate/unrelated comment: It would be great to be able to do a search on a company and have BOTH the Canadian and U.S. questions both come back together. It's a bit of a pain to have to do two separate searches and then manually read them in chronological order. Well, it is the season...and I thought I'd just ask... :)

TIA

Q: In August you were asked about 10 high growth companies you'd be comfortable holding for 10 years, with the following companies suggested.

GSY, PRL, WELL, BN, ISRG, NVDA, BKNG, TMDX, SHOP, LLY

A lot has happened since August! Any updates you'd make at this time?

Q: I have some cash parked in HSAV and noticed that, for the past month, the trading there follows the same pattern, the price is up during the morning and mid-day and then drops at the end of the day. As a result, the price remained practically the same for the past month and the difference between the NAV and price is now down to only 20c. I am wondering what's going on with this ETF? Looks like some investors are doing massive selling there, do they know something I don't? Is HSAV is still you preferred "cash parking" ETF for people in high-tax bracket?

Q: DOCS; As I understand matters while this issue reported very good progress in its last earnings statement the investment community seems luke warm so I wondered what contributed to their last earnings and whether the improvement was durable, or not, while on TMDX the projections are quite aggressive against the backdrop of a poor quarter, so once again I am curious as to what triggered their poor performance in the last reported quarter and whether the service they offer is unique or copied/ replicated by others. Look forward to your response.

Q: Forums

If you dig deep enough in the web site (Click on members, then click on Start Here, scroll down to the last choice ) you'll find forums.

There are not many participants in these forums.

5i felt it was worthwhile to have a forums section, perhaps you could comment on some of the reasons 5i subscribers might want to participate in these forums.

I also posted this question in the forums section (Brokerages and research tools) if anyone wants to add to 5i's answer.
