Q: Hi 5i,
Can you explain what's going on with STC these past few days. My online brokerage site shows the price fluctuating but also shows the trading halt still in place and no volume. Is all this unusual?
Thanks,
Peter

Q: Hi gang,
I realize that Topicus shares issued to CSU holders are treated as a dividend, but I'm having a hard time finding a book value of these shares, ie dividend value.
Do you know what we should use for this book value?
Thx

Q: My question has to do with personal estate taxes or the tax grab by the us tax authorities on a individuals estate holding personal US property (US stocks). Can one avoid this problem by just simply holding Canadian ETF's (trading only in Canada) that hold US equities. For example BMO ZQQ, or Vanguard VSP. Any guidance or help from 5i or it's members would be much appreciated.
Q: Dear 5i,
I am considering purchasing either PGF860 or PGF260 for my RIF and TFSA accounts.
Morningstar describes both as Global Small/Mid/Cap equity mutual funds but, PGF860 appears to have much fewer holdings. May I please have your thoughts on these two funds and whether they might be good considerations for my two different accounts. Might one be better suited for each account?
Thanks for the terrific service!

- BMO Aggregate Bond Index ETF (ZAG)
- BMO Europe High Dividend Covered Call Hedged to CAD ETF (ZWE)

- BMO Canadian High Dividend Covered Call ETF (ZWC)
- BMO US High Dividend Covered Call Hedged to CAD ETF (ZWS)
Q: If I buy:
ZWC ((BMO CDN HIGH DIV COV ETF) for Canadian exposure and income,
ZWS (BMO US HIGH DIV COVER ETF) for US exposure and income, and
ZWE (BMO EUROPE HI DIV COVER CALL HEDGED CAD) for European exposure and income,
that will give me about 7%+ income and exposure to about 120 very decent world wide companies. As a retiree, would I need to do anything else?

I'm sorry to ask this question, as I bet you have answered it before and it's in your question history, but, would you mind recommending an ETF or two that follow cryptocurrency?
Thank you,

Q: VXRT No news about this, but opened at $14 yesterday and closed at $23.....now down to $12??? Why the volatility?
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much!
Q: John O'Connell commented at the money show that ENB is a ponzi scheme based on its overpaying dividends and then having to go to the market to raise the necessary capital to complete their capex plans. Sounds a little harsh. Comment?
Q: TU closed yesterday at $20.46 US. The IPO is set at $25.00. Are the shares different. What is the relative rights and terms between the two. The new issue does not seem to be impacting the valuation of TU ?
Q: I have been looking at this for some time and it (appears to me anyway) a great way to get broad exposure to the banks with some limited leverage. What is your take on this ETF??
Q: I am considering MFI for a consumer defensive position and wonder what your take on the company is - buy or avoid or wait? I have also thought about Loblaws. Which, if either, is a good choice?
thanks

Q: Hi- can you provide analysis of the company - especially in light of financing

Q: One of my financial advisors moved from TD to Canaccord. Got me wondering if I should sell the TD shares I own in my self managed account and buy Canaccord.
Also a comment to Garth who is having trouble contacting TD WebBroker, I contact them through their phone app with much better results.

- Shopify Inc. Class A Subordinate Voting Shares (SHOP)
- Boyd Gaming Corporation (BYD)
- Lightspeed Commerce Inc. Subordinate Voting Shares (LSPD)
Q: I handle my 40 year old daaughters portfolio. In her $170,000 balanced portfolio which is equally balanced, BYD has grown to 13%, LSPD to 19% and SHOP to 7.5%. The funds are not required for any other purpose than growing the income for retirement. We are not too concerned about the downside of these. Still, 5i keeps insisting that a maximum to hold for equities shwould be 5%. Should we trim and put the excess else where and if so could you suggest where or keep on with no change. We are comfortabl with this. Thank you

Q: Would you consider PEP a re-opening security? It reports on February 11, 2021 . Do you expect performance above consensus?
Do you have Forward P/E and PEG? I have PEG at 6.6 . But ROE *seems* over 50% . Is that the correct correct ROE? If yes, PEG at 6.6 does not look right.
Analysts are awfully lukewarm on the business. Is PEP worth holding on to if one is looking for for both modest growth, and dividend, or do you expect PEP to act more like a bond going forward?
