Q: Preface: Luv u guys and the service that you supply so well. Listened to Peter's hedging presentation in the MoneyShow this morning - So valuable!
My non-specific company question is about how you reply to portfolio questions (like Stanley's Q earlier today on behalf of his 40 y.o. daughter's portfolio): Stanley indicated Canadian equity positions of 13%, 19%, and 7.5% for the TOTAL portfolio - Correct? My TOTAL portfolio contains barely more than 10% Canadian equities! It might have positions up to 10% within that 10% allotment, but not 10% of the TOTAL portfolio value. I know that 5i recommends a more global (US and Int'l) weight to TOTAL portfolios, but you rarely mention this when replying to Qs like Stanley's... Is that for brevity, or am I missing the portfolio theory?

Q: Hello Peter, with Alphabet's huge cash hoard and pressure on the company to control expenses, do you expect they might institute a dividend soon? Should they? Would the market reward that decision with a price increase, do you think?
Also, despite paying a premium of several extra dollars when I bought GOOGL (not GOOG) several years ago, I'm chagrined to see that my GOOGL shares now trade at several dollars less. Given that the GOOGL shares have voting rights that the GOOGs don't, I'm a bit puzzled. Do you think the old premium will return at some point?

Q: Just to confirm my impression about tax treatment of dividend flowing from Canadian based EFTs with US and International focus.
Outside TFSA and RRSP these are treated as income rather then tax favourable dividends?
Canadian focused EFTs dividends are treated as dividends from Canadian stocks?
Thank you,
Miroslaw

Q: Hello 5i Team,
I have a couple questions where I'd appreciate your expertise.
First, I've been holding BRK.B long term, and even after shaving my position last year, and the year before, due to its performance, it's currently 28% of my total non-registered portfolio. I'd appreciate your thoughts on whether I should continue to pare down my position (it's up 170% at present).
Second, I would like to add some international equities to my overall portfolio. As Scotia iTrade is limited to US and Canada, can you recommend a solid, and cost-effective online brokerage for global markets?
Thank you! Aaron

Q: Maurice asked about QYOU and your answer about insiders perked my interest as I bought a small position today with some play money when it dropped with the bought deal announcement. Can you elaborate who specifically (G Scott Paterson?)

Looking at their executive team and Board Members it seems like they have some massive experience running large media companies... Curt Marvis, former president of Lionsgate Digital, Les Garland - cofounder of MTV and VH1, Glenn Ginnsburg - formerly VP of sales for Walt Disney and MTV, Andy Kaplan - former president of Sony Pictures, Steve Beek - former co-COO of Lionsgate. Seems like a very qualified group to lead a newer media company, would you not agree?

They seem to have the right set of people and are starting to grow audience reach in India specifically. The growth for The Q India (youth oriented channel now available in and on over 650 million homes and devices in India,) since it became BARC (India's "Nielsen") rated less than one year ago makes The Q India the fastest growing Hindi General Entertainment channel in the country on
satellite and cable television. Other areas of possible growth is influencer marketing as well.

Thanks for your time!

Q: Peter; I asked their investor relations department re hold up- the below is his reply. Hello Rod
As shared in last Friday's Sangoma has signed an agreement to buy a
company called Star2Star https://www.sangoma.com/investor-relations/
The transaction meets the criteria for review by our exchange, the TSX-V,
and we submitted the necessary documents on January 29th. In the course
of their review the TSX-V may ask questions which the company will answer
but the timetable is governed by the exchange so we don't know exactly
when they will complete their review such that trading can recommence.
Regards
David

Q: I recently stumbled on Earth Alive Clean Technology, they have new products in the dust control area for the industrial space such as mining, and fertilizer and activators for the agricultural area. They recently commented on the fact that California approved them and new commitments and a promising near term.
They got hit in recent quarters and stock suffered a lot, with the agricultural area getting more $ on commodity prices, it is suggested they will be increasing spending on fertilizers and such, and likewise the mining sector will be flush with cash and also have increased activity and spending.
Wondering your thoughts on company and it’s positioning, I realize it’s very small market cap, but with the combination of depressed share price and it’s new product offerings and sector tailwinds would you view it positively for a speculative buy.

Q: Hi Peter and the 5i team!

What are your views re the Telus International IPO? From the little I have read I am not sure what sector do the TIXT businesses belong. In your opinion is it a strategically well diversified group of businesses or merely a diverse collection of business units? In what sector(s) does this new entity fit?

Is TIXT unique in the Canadian universe of stock market offerings? Who are their competitors? Chief reasons to buy now? Chief reasons to avoid?

Thanks for your thoughtful views and guidance.

Q: Can you give us your concensus on Suncor's quarter and outlook?
I have several hundred shares that average close to the present price.
Would you hold, sell a portion, or dump them all?
My feeling is with time they may climb back some, but it's risky with all the rush to green companies whether they've proven themselves or not.

thanks, Paul

Q: Yesterday, you mentioned that index funds must sell their shares. The stock yesterday started at $66 and now it is below $58. From the 39.4M shares outstanding, 3.5M have been traded so far in 2 days.
Is there a magic volume number to which we can say the the funds have finished selling?
Was this expected to drop after opening because of the reason which I have stated?
Thanks
