Q: Looking to add another U S company to either my cash or TFSA account. I have followed MITK for awhile and I believe you like it. I notice it has pulled back a bit. Would it be a good addition and to which account? U. S stocks I presently own are SQ, V, BHVN, AAPL, DIS, FSLY, and ABCL. Do you have another suggestion that I may consider?

Q: Hi 5i - I understand that WELL is a provider of OSCAR electronic medical records, with this open source software originally developed by McMaster University. Today I see that Alphabet is filing for a new IPO, OSCAR Health which aims to cash in on the surge for digital health services. Is there any connection between WELL and Alphabet on this or perhaps it's Alphabet tapping into the OSCAR open source software?

Q: Hi,
I'm curious about CEF's and came across this one that appears to offer a decent dividend, with a bit of growth. However, I don't know anything about these types of funds, so would appreciate any thought you might offer on them. Are they a reasonable investment, or very risky? They talk about these funds being leveraged and that makes me nervous - should I be, or is that just my lack of understanding how these funds work. I'm much more familiar with ETF's and certainly comfortable with stocks - either Canada or US markets. Thanks for all your great advice over the years!

Q: Bought this early last year just over $50 still down about 30%, would you by more to reduce overall per share price, it was about 7% now is around 4% weighting in my portfolio, looking to keep long term for dividend payout?

Q: I have difficulty to understand the purpose of the spin off. Both companies are chasing for the same type of companies to continue their growth. How are they going to proceed when there is a target ? They will probably have 2 acquisitions teams working in tandem ? If you had to chose between SIS and GDI to hold for the next three years, which would you prefer. They are close in market cap but SIS pays a monthly dividend and appears to be making a comeback. I currently hold GDI but am leaning toward switching back to SIS

Q: Hi: My daughter is self employed and puts excess profits into her TFSA, to pay herself forward. In other words she pays herself so much per month. As another big commission cheque arrives she puts that toward her future monthly income, so that no matter what happens, ie slow sales, then she is prepaying herself into the future. She has accumulated over 50K now with the $$ just sitting in a very low interest savings account and not making much in interest.
Do you have any suggestions towards putting this into a low risk ETF or Blue Chip Stock or other suggestions? If so, what percentage in each? A portion could also go into a slightly higher interest fund. Any other suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Good morning, what wud be the advantage for a Can.investor to buy Vanguard and iShares American Indexes ETF traded at the TSX that offers S&P500/DJA in CAD?. Is the answer that some investors want to stay in their CAD currency. But if someone has oodles of USD cash its better to buy these ETF's directly in NYSE. to avoid the money being exchanged twice. D'accord?

Q: COR reported yesterday February 4 and shares are down about 5%.
1. Your view on the results please , for example results vs. management forecasts.
2. Is projected cash flow sufficient to meet debt obligations and projected distribution rates ?
3. Is COR positioned well for the growth in the global need for data centers, especially given rapid digitization (possibly including some troublesome humans in the future) ?
4. I referred to your response to my question of January 13 (thank you). Is there anything in your answer of that date that you would change?
5. Is today a good time to buy ?

Q: I have approx. $90,000 to deploy into my husband’s TFSA. He is 66 and has not been taking advantage of the benefits of a TFSA. Can you please advise me of 12 stocks, and the weighting for each one, that you would highly recommend to get us off to a good start and continue to grow his TFSA. I’m ok with sensible risk. Q: QUIS has been moving in the right direction the past few days. On Friday I believe it was up almost 10%. The only news I see that might account for the strength was the announcement last week that the company was using 2 industry veterans to assist with strategic growth. Is this significant? Do you see anything else that might account for the upward momentum? What is your current assessment going forward?

Q: I own Real Matters (REAL), Topicus.com (TOI.v) and Flex Ltd. (FLEX) within a larger portfolio. I would like to sell two of these 3 companies. Which of the 3 has the best growth potential and would be the best candidate to add the proceeds of the sale to?
