Q: (Part 2 with 6 new companies) I watched a presentation on Saturday where analysts fielded audience company suggestions and whittled them down to a few that they felt could 10 X in a reasonable time frame. I am wondering if you can look at this six and rank based on potential? For the top two, it would be great if you can discuss the TAM, impact of market value and shares outstanding, if they are solving a new problem/creating a new market and quality of management. Basically, why those two?

Q: Hi Peter,
I have a portfolio of CND stocks, AT, EGLX,ERO,WELL,KRR.XBC, and a portfolio of US listed stocks, DCBO,CRWD,FUBO,MITK,LSPD,PINS,KL. I am comfortable with my holdings and dont plan to sell in the short term. Based on the context of my portfolio, should I decide to hedge my portfolio by buying HUV:CA, as rule of thumb, what % of my portfolio would you think would be adequate to hedge without having to highly dilute my overall returns. I hope I am making sense with the question I am asking.
Your assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks,

Q: Does this make sense? Thanks!
This is an incredibly simple idea for any Tilray shareholders but it is also a good one. Tilray (TLRY) and Aphria (APHA) are combining. They will become one, probably by August. So if you own Tilray, you will still own TLRY shares by then. If you own Aphria, you’ll own TLRY shares by then, too. But if you invest the same number of dollars in Aphria, you’ll end up with more TLRY. More TLRY is better than less. Today, the deal is worth $53.51 in TLRY shares for each Aphria share you own. That is a $27.21 net spread above today’s Aphria market price.
WHY?
EACH Aphria share WILL GET 0.8381 TLRY shares.

Q: What are your top 3 stock recommendations right now for purchase of Canadian energy companies predominately focused on natural gas exploration and production (ie. producers, not mid-stream players, and natural gas focus more so than oil). What is your rationale for each? Long term focus, dividend would be nice but not required.
Thanks - really appreciate all your good advice.

Q: Question regarding investing in a US dollar TFSA. Are returns taxable in any way? And if so are these deduction at source before generating into the tfsa? If there are consequences, what is best inside the US tfsa, dividends or capital gains. Deduct as needed

Q: I have BPY.un in my TFSA and I intend to sell it as soon as Brookfield raises its offer (hopefully). To replace it, I will choose between PPL and KEY; I own both in a cash account and my strategy for my TFSA is to "hide" higher-yield equities in it, hence my willingness for putting PPL or KEY in my TFSA. For a 10+ years holding, which one should I choose if I want dividend growth, some capital growth and lower volatility?

Thanks, Martin

Q: Hi 5i,

Apparently, Brookfield already owns almost 20% of IPL (I must have missed reporting of this fact). Could they sell their IPL shares and only report the sale after they have been completed? Could this “almost” offer be a way to increase the price before they sell?

Thanks for the input.

Q: I am considering the above 7 REITs and would like to concentrate on the best 4-5 for long term in RRSP; based on current value and growth potential. I am concerned that CRT is trading at too high a valuation (P/B higher than others). Could you please tell us where each of the 7 REITs are trading, relative to their NAV (for example DIR's may be trading at a 10-per-cent discount to NAV). Can you please rank all 7 REITs? Thank you!!
PS: Is it hard to calculate trading price relative to NAV?

Q: I came across PUMP, World Class Extractions, on Jan 26 had an update on Pineapple Express Delivery, they have controlling interest. They deliver Cannabis B-B, and B-C, and also Liquor in some jurisdictions. They deliver Medical Cannabis for Shoppers Drug mart , as well as for Spectrum, medical division of Canopy Growth. Now they’re applying for license from Canadian Gov for “Sale for Medical Purposes “ for its facility in GTA. They seem relatively undiscovered, but getting attention lately. Do you think they could be a good Aquisition target by Shoppers or Canopy Growth, or any other bigger player for that matter.
Plus in their own business in the CBD products and devices could also be attractive part to the package
Thanks
