Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Good afternoon - the recent runup in equities has me looking to re-balance and add more bond exposure. I currently have positions in XLB, XBB and HYG. Can you suggest bond positions ( likely ETF's) in Canada and the US, please? Just add to the existing Canadian positions? What about HYG? Time to move?

Many thanks

Q: I'm trying to find reasons not to buy a little taste of this. With all of the oockroaches etc hiding here, what are the odds of a takeover? Would another company step in here and purchase and if so, what could a projected sale price look like? At what point does the risk/reward make sense if a buyout is unlikely?

My thought is that if the company/governance is terrible but the business is excellent there has to be a price that makes sense but admittedly I am just looking for a reason to do it!

Q: I have sold the above two companies, half of BYD and all of ATS. The purpse was to raise cash and put it into a high interest Canadian dollar savings ETF to wait out the first part of the Trump presidential version Nu. two.

Do you have an ETF that you recommend or maybe another suggestion?

Q: The following stocks are all up nicely: AXON, PANW, NVDA, COST, ISRG, META, TTD and CRWD. All are mid size positions in my portfolio. Where do you see the markets going in January? Would you recommend trimming any of these stocks? Would you suggest holding more cash going into the new year? Thank you

Q: Hello 5i
I wonder whether you could provide some clarity on the question of sectors. According to 5i my sectors are out of whack. But, I am not buying real estate because I consider my house to represent that. My financials don't include any banks but BrK.B, CSU, etc. and it is overweight. But, I don't really see these companies as primary financial companies. Anything that you could add to this that would clarify the situation? Also, I was wondering whether you break down eft's into sectors or stocks on your portfolio tracking and analysis tool?
thanks

Q: Ignoring portfolio weightings, Can you give some advice on when to sell your winners? For example MFC has had a nice run. It seems fully valued. I am an income investor and am consider shifting to SLF for no other reason than the pick up in yield. There are other ‘winners’ I have that appear to be fully valued and I could shift elsewhere to boost income. What are the right things to consider re timing on when to sell?

Q: What are your recommended non-Canadian equity ETFs?
Do you prefer US only ETFs, or worldwide non-Canadian ETFs, for a long term hold?
Is it more likely that US equities will outperform non-US, such as Europe and Japan, or is it too hard to tell?

Q: Groupe Dynamite Hi - would like your thoughts on this IPO - is the valuation reasonable and what is the growth expected? Fashion stocks tend to be very volatile- would this be of interest?
