Q: I like what Global X has to offer in their line of ETF's. However, I think I read one of your Q&A responses a couple months ago that their can be a concern with overloading the overall percentage of ones portfolio with a given ETF company. Did I understand that correctly? If so, just wondering what the potential consequences are in doing that, and if you do recommend spreading investments over a number of ETF companies.
Percentages are personal, but perhaps 5i has a ballpark-ish range that they would be comfortable with for a given ETF company (?)
Q: What’s the advantages or disadvantages in holding an s&p500 ETF in Canadian dollars (XUS) vs holding it in US dollars (SPY)? Which would way do you recommend? Would you still recommend buying in US when the Canadian dollar is so weak like it is right now?
Q: Is there a cash holding to invest in that is not locked into a term (like a GIC but with no term), so, with full liquidity? I'm thinking of a high-interest type account within an RRSP so I can go to cash a few months in advance of need for the cash, but still incur interest on the cash as I wait to make a monthly withdrawal. I invest with RBC Direct Investing in case that's helpful - perhaps there is an RBC product that suits my needs.
Q: I need to increase my consumer defensive sector. Which would be your favourite among the listed companies or do you have a better suggestion on the Canadian market?
Q: Wow. Is the market rational?
I find it's certainly getting far more explosive in qtrly reaction (up or down).
I am happy with this (what I think is) wild crazy lift in 1 day as Docu has morphed into a 'normal' software company (as in, making $, having profit, high GM) vs hype of 'future $'.
But, stepping back. To me, it is now trading at a "fair" valuation based on 8-10% rev growth and now >20PE.
How do you like how this company has turned itself around ? Do you think this move is simply a catch up or do you see a fundamental re-thinking of docu and there is more room for stock price re rating?
30% in one day? wow.
Q: Pardon the abruptness but It sure would be nice if members could start behaving g alittle more independently and USE THE SEARCH BAR FUNCTION !! Asking the moderator to confirm when a respective dividend date and amount is going to be paid AND Asking about all the Canadian public equities that pay a USD Dividend... BOTH QUESTIONS have been REPEATEDLY ASKED FOR 5 yrs ! Considering the vast amount of hi level expertise our moderator has too offer everyone these very basic administrative requests are serious waste of the moderators and other members time ! Perhaps implementing some better auto populate drop down functions or some How to Video s could be created to combat this ?!? This saved time for the moderator could in fact add value and time for the moderator to reallocate research report time for some USA Equities since PA subscribers are encouraged to hold a 40% USD portfolio allocation !! My estimate is nearly 25% of some daily question volume is really just laziness of the author not using the platforms software search functions. JMHO !! You can deduct 2x the credits for the abrasive tone of my request :) and wasting everyone s time having to read this. Have a nice day
Q: In regard's MRVL's last question on Sept 27 you noted a sales decline. I understand they reported on December 4 and seem to have done well. Is sales growth still negative year over year and is it's forward PE ratio still with-in reason? I suppose they are a competitor of NVDA which may be a risk more than an asset even if its chips are cheaper than NVDA's. Have they invented a better chip or is there anything about them which is better than NVDA other than price? Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.
Jim
Q: Good evening, how do you view these two stocks in light of upcoming tightening of immigration to Canada? Would this be a positive or a negative? And in Propel's case, would it be outweighed by attempts at international growth? Buy, hold, sell? Thank you!
Q: Good evening. Hopefully a simple question for you. If you could only choose one for best overall returns over the next three or four years, which one would it be please? Or is it a close call?
Q: I notice that Nividia has invested in Nbis & Soun,
Appprciate if you could name other companies that Nividia has invested in that trade on North American exchanges’
Thank You
Q: I have owned this REIT for sometime and am very pleased with it but lately, it has been going down. Can you shed some light on why this may be happening? Should I add to it at this time? I know it is one of your favourites. Thank you for your great service.
Can you please give me your current assessment of Profound Medical?
I've held this stock for about five years. It peaked in 2021 at just over $35, and with the recent drop (due to yet another financing), it's down to about $10.66. I've listened to each earnings call, and it's been the same message for years now that widespread adoption of their non-surgical MRI guided prostate cancer/BPH treatment is just around the corner.
Their "First-time CPT code reimbursement for TULSA" is to be effective January 1, 2025, and they recently partnered with Siemens in a co-sales/marketing deal.
Is more patience (along with patients) warranted here, or is it more likely time to move on? Thanks, Brad
