Q: Hi
I am trying to find out more about the lawsuit against MITEK you reference in your March 16 response to a question from Joel. I found a USAA lawsuit against MITEK which was settled in 2014 and a lawsuit where MITEK sued USAA in 2019 claiming USAA's litigation against MITEK's customers "placed a cloud over MITEK's products and services." Is this the lawsuit you were referencing? Thanks

Q: As a member for many years, I would like to thank you for the wonderful service you provide to all of us. I have learned so much by reading the daily questions, your responses, and your blogs and updates. Right now in my RRIF, I would like to top up either Trane or Linde on the US side, or TCN on the Canadian side. If you would rank them according to your best estimate for capital growth over the next few years, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Jane N

Q: Please give me your thoughts on the above. The first two are ETFs , and that to me means covering more than one crypto currency ? Could you elaborate on this and what they cover as an ETF ? Their mer's = 1%. What is the diff. between QBTC and QBTC.U and is there an mer on these ? If you were to buy Bitcoin in a TFSA, would it be one of these or would you recommend another one that might have lower management fees. Looking at these 4 on the stock market today, QBTC is up 2.76% while the 2 first ones are up less than 1% ? I certainly like a 2.76% daily increase ! Thanks for any info.

Q: Could you help me understand how dividends works ?
For exemple, I bought GSY when the dividend was 7,4%. I see that if I add new shares today, the dividend will be 2,20%. How will the dividend be calculated for the next dividend payment if I do buy new shares ?
If I don't buy new shares, will the dividend payment on my existing shares be 2,20% ?
Or to put it differently, do I just multiply the present dividend (0,66$) by my number of shares ?

Gratefully,
Jacques IDS

Q: Hi group lumber companies took it on the chin in 2 short days WEF went down 15% in the last 2 days as an example . Is the run over /(Time to cash in profits) or is this simply some folks taking profits. I know housing starts in the us are off but is the high price on lumber not the culprit here and also looking like lumber inventories remain low which should = higher prices for lumber going fwd. - your thoughts are always appreciated

Q: I have paid very little attention to preferred shares until fairly recently. I understand that in the event of bankruptcy the owners of these shares place higher than common shares and that they have higher dividends. That's about it. What I don't understand is why BAM.A would be up 8.5% ytd but BAM.PF.X would be up over 30%. and BAM.PF.B would be up 23%. Is this sort of outperformance likely to continue?

Q: I own these 2 companies and wish to consolidate into 1. They overlap in sectors to some degree with their propane distribution business. I like the management of PKI while the Brookfield investment in SPB provides strength.
Which has better growth potential ? How might the Brookfield connection play out for SPB ? In short, which one to keep and why? Thanks Derek.

Q: Volkswagen- is this a sensible way to approach the EV manufacturers market? The P/E does look good compared to say, Tesla, which continues to scare me. I have positions in MG and ATA which I'm satisfied with and I don't want to reach into the fire but Volkswagen has been around a long time and I'm tempted. Your thoughts, please. All the best
