Q: Is there any difference in performance between between a US listed ETF and the equivalent Canadian TSX listed ETF? Is it best to keep it in Canadian currency?
For example: VOO// VFV/ VSP or QQQ// QQC.F/ QQC
Also what would you recommend for hedged vs non-hedged and also market weight vs equal weight?
Thanks

Q: Don’t you think the increase in the MRK stock price is excessive given that the benefits were shown in unvaccinated people which is a shrinking market because more and more people are vaccinated and that this MRK news release shouldn’t be a negative for Covid vaccine manufacturers like MRNA…isn’t MRNA a screaming buy now. Isn’t the market misunderstanding the news release?

Q: NVEI's share price hit just under $180 in mid-September and has been sliding back down ever since, to the current $140 level. From a TA standpoint where is the very bottom support price? As well, I feel like locking in my gains at the current $140 level and buy back later, if the support level is not reached yet. Do you recommend that maneuver? Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i,

When I try to estimate a stocks 12 month target price I assume a multiple and growth. My eventual target price usually ends up lower than what most analysts calculate. Do most analysts use current multiples even thought there may be short term multiple expansion? The overall market especially in the US seems to have experienced significant multiple expansion in the last couple of years. I would appreciate your thoughts on how analysts arrive at their target prices and forecasts. (they seem to be an optimistic bunch)

thanks

Q: Hello Peter & Team,

Read your Aug 4 BTE answer. Everything sounded fairly positive - reasonable cash flow generated with good expectations moving forward, debt was reduced, and you had a generally positive outlook although you did comment "we would prefer it (debt) lower."

Being just ahead of 3rd quarter reporting along with general sentiment oil could once again reach upwards to $100, I was thinking now would be a good time to add a position. I have 2010 - 2013 in mind when I did extremely well last time oil was $100+.

Do you think this is a good idea or a bad idea and why? And do you think we will see $100?

Thanks for all you do

gm
