Q: Two related questions. I'm overweight in utilities and want to shift some of the funds invested here to one or two Canadian consumer cyclical stocks.
1) Which would you sell: BEP, NPI or AQN? Or would you sell some of each?
2) Which 2-3 Canadian cyclicals would you recommend with yields >1.3% that are likely to grow at least 20% in the next 12-18 months?
Thank you.

Q: HI Peter and Staff
Your top picks in consumer cyclical have been pretty consistent, ATZ,LNF,GOOS,DOO,MG.......last week you had DOL included. I have all of the ones listed in my basket , I also have CTC.A and it has been good to me though most of the gains were a few years ago. I did have DOL until I sold it a few months back a week or so before I had a run of course.....Can you please give me your thesis on whether a swap from CTC.A to DOL is suggested if taxes are triggered of CTC.A sale.....I am up 77%.....Alternatively ( please charge credits as you see fit), I have sold many losers to see them run back up....should I take my lumps on REAL and replace with DOL?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Doing some spring cleaning and attempting to tilt my folio into more income and less growth/risk. I follow the BP almost exclusively and would like your opinion on which Div payers in the BP you would increase in weight, and what non Div payers you would decrease. Thanks!

Q: I own BEP.UN and BEPC and they have been free falling since 1/01/2021, down about 15%. The entire renewable energy sector are down a lot too, e.g. INE is down 25% YTD. I know this sector's been up quite a bit last year, but why the collapse this year? Is it just sector rotation, or there are other reasons? Thanks.

Q: Could I have your analysis for AC. I know the airline industry is losing a lot of money right now. Do you forsee them going bankrupt as they did in 2003? Or do you see their stock gradually increasing over the years?

Q: Buffet rekindled a concern in his recent annual meeting which I have had for a long time. He seems to think that it would be better for the average investor to be invested in index funds. This year he started out by asking which were the 20 largest capitalization companies in the world today. Then he showed the 20 largest in 1989. He asked how many remain among the largest today. The answer was zero. I would have gone to index funds before but I have large capital gains in my largely Canadian taxable accounts. I did try to adjust this by buying only US index funds in my registered accounts. But, then I thought that I already have so many individual stocks that a few more won't matter that much. So, I also bought individual stocks in my registered accounts. I know that you cannot offer individual portfolio advice. But, it would be useful to have your perspecitve on Buffet's advice and the dangers of indivual stock picking for most people. If you could fix my personal dilemma that would be a bonus!
thanks

Q: Currently I own all of these semi conductor related companies in my taxable account. QCOM, AMD and MRVL are still at a loss since the March downturn. All others are in positive territory, especially SMH. Should I continue to hold them all as core holdings for the long term or would you trim or delete any? Is it still a good idea to hold SMH because the ETF owns a number of companies like ASML, AMAT, an MU that I do not hold?
