Q: Hi Team,
I was looking at buying some NVEI. However, I am already heavy tech in general. If I were to buy some shares I would need to sell something to do this. The stocks that I already hold that would consider trimming to buy shares in NVEI would be: LSPD, WELL, SQ, MITK. Do you consider NVEI as having more long term potential than any of the other 4 mentioned? If so, which one of the 4 would you recommend trimming to buy some NVEI? Thanks
Shane

Q: I am considering selling U (down 24% in my TFSA) and replacing it with one of the following: WELL, NVEI, DOCU, MED, or APPS. Please rank in order of preference if purchased today. Can I assume all of the above stocks would likely have higher rates of growth than U and that the sale of U would thus be justified?

Thank you.

Q: In one of the answers on BAMR it was said that BAMR is economically equivalent to BAM.A. I'm a little confused on this. My understanding is BAMR is exchangeable for 1 share of BAM.A but it is a separate company that will have it's own earnings/cash flow and so on that is different than BAM.A. So BAMR probably will never trade for less than BAM.A but if BAMR does really well economically then in theory it could go a lot higher than BAM.A based on it's own economic numbers. If this is right than owning BAMR is better because you only need one of two companies to do well for BAMR stock to do well. Please confirm on my understanding. Thank you.

Q: I see your report on CDN companies paying US dividends and was wondering if currency gains are allowable in tax free accounts. If one were to accumulate US$ in the account and then flip to CDN$ at a profit would this put you offside with CRA?

Q: Hello,
Do you have any info on this company? It is involved in supplying lithium ion batteries to the EV market. Jeff Dahn is the principal architect from Dalhousie University. He also has a renewable contract with Tesla. It trades on the Aussie market along OTC in the USA.
Thanks
Rick

Q: Hi. I know cryptocurrency is slightly outside your purview. However, your advice on QBTC.UN was very valuable in allowing me to get exposure to bitcoin (and a 125% return). As an extension of that, is there a simple way a Canadian investor can get direct exposure to Ethereum outside a digital wallet. ie an ETF, etc... I am hoping there is some liquidity and a reasonable structure. Thanks in advance.

Q: Hello 5i
How would you rank the listed companies?
I would like to add NVIE. ,but also need to either sell one of the listed companies or reduce all equally.
The companies are equally owned.
Your opinion is appreciated.
Thanks

Q: I have received a few shares of BAMR in my Canadian TFSA and RRSP accounts. What do you recommend I do? I would prefer to convert them to BAM.A at minimum cost. Do I need to call my broker (TD Direct Investing) to accomplish this?

Q: Just a comment on having Canadian stocks that pay dividends in U S dollars transferred to a US account. I had done this using RBC Direct with some of the Brookfield companies and found they actually converted the US to Canadian and then back to US (ie two conversions). Needless to say I had to undue the transfer and get the ACB corrected as well as they used the US rate as at the date of transfer to adjust the ACB.
