Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Peter, could you give me your current assessment of this company and its prospects. In some ways, it seems to be a no-brainer as an investment since it is buying up retailers that use Shopify as their platform.

Now that the stock is showing signs of life, I would be interested in your take on its fundamentals and growth expectations going forward.

Many thanks to you and the team for your excellent service.

Q: Regarding your recommended portfolios, is it safe to "assume" that if an investment is still in the porfolio, you would consider buying still? If not, is there anyway you could colour code, or highlight that you support acquiring still or just hold as some investments have been there a long time.

Hi 5i,

NSGE ETF is a Sustainable Global ETF that has been around for a little over 1 Year. It has good performance since it's introduction. It's AUM have grown from approx. 10M to over 300M in a short time. Can you help explain why the trading volume is extremely low? Can you provide your overall thoughts for this ETF? Can you also provide your thoughts on the subadvisor Alliance Bernstein?

Q: Can you provide guidance on what is the most appropriate strategy for profit taking? Should you have an objective in mind when purchasing, and when that goal is achieved, sell? Or if underlying investment still has solid fundamentals, continue to hold?

Q: Greetings 5i,

The company's listed are TFSA holdings. The goal of the TFSA is moderately aggressive growth. Time frame is 4-8 years. Equities are purchased in equal weights and rebalanced based on weighting.

SLF and BNS are also held in other accounts, at an overall portfolio percent of ~5-6%. Which would you recommend adding to at this time? What do you consider the weakest from this list? Would you consider removing any from the TFSA holding only in either a non reg or reg account? If so, why? And which one, two or three additional growth oriented companies, either CAD or USD would you recommend.

Take as many credits as required.

Thank you for the excellent service.

Q: I own ZHY, XHY and ZEF bond ETFs. They do pay some income, but the capital is getting constantly depleted - I am 10% down on ZHY/XHY and 5% down on ZEF after holding them for many years. Is there a point of keeping these funds or should I get rid of them?

Q: Hi Guys,

I own all of the above (Bam.a 2.55%, Bepc 1.7% , Bep.un 2.2% ), I was thinking of selling either Bepc and Bep.un and purchasing more Bam.a.

Does this make any sense inside a balance portfolio.

thanks

Jim

Q: Hi guys,

I own BAM.A (2.5%), BEPC (1.80%) & BEP.UN (2.2%) inside a "balance ish" portfolio. Your thoughts on selling one of BEPC or BEP.UN and adding to BAM.A, making it a full position (5%).
Thanks
Jim
