Q: HNY - Amid the confusion among predictions for 2022 is a recommendation from veteran income investor Mark Grant who says he's putting clients into ETF PDI from Pimco as a means of generating 10% income returns annually. I would be interested in having your analysis of this ETF including the risks, rewards, fees, etc. Obviously not in your growth wheelhouse but for an income position in US dollars what are your views on this one?

Q: Please ignore if this has been asked by others, but let's say Mr. X challenges you to the same competition but for US stocks, and this time he let's you pick first. What are your picks?

Q: My grandson has just opened a RRSP account in which he is assembling a balanced portfolio of ETFs. He also holds a small position in GSY and would like to add one more stock. Would BAM.A be a good choice as an 'all weather" addition or is there a preferred alternative.
With appreciation,
Ed

Q: I hold the above positions in a TFSA in the respective % amounts: 5.2, 5.5, 4.1, 1.93. I am considering selling GIB.A and AMZN and acquiring either TOI or perhaps for a little more torque LSPD. Which of the 2 would you suggest or any other proxies?

Q: Happy New Year!

I currently hold all three companies in a TFSA. I need to free up some cash for another investment idea and would appreciate your thoughts on which of these you would let go, and why.

Thanks, Rick

Q: Good Morning Peter & Team,

Financial Performance has been mentioned as strongly profitable with a net profit margin over 45%. Year-over-year Quarterly revenue grew by almost 60%. Everything looked great. I took on a position and am now down over 10%. I know you never comment about personal rules one of which for myself is if it drops 10% below MV sell because only the pigs get slaughtered on wall street.

You're advice regarding what I should do (buy/hold/sell), is there any explanation you can provide why there there was a precipitous drop today, and would you remain bullish on this name?

Thanks for all you do

gm

Q: Hi,
I am wondering about whether or not replacing stocks sold for a tax loss strategy is prudent, or not. All of the above listed stocks are at a loss in a taxable account. I am looking to offset a large profit that occurred in July when a number of stops were hit. The loss on GSY and SBUX is not terribly large, and so if it is deemed these stand a good chance of rebounding in the early part of 2022, then I may decided to keep them. In selling any of the stocks listed, are their replacements I could purchase that would likely add some growth? The alternative being just wait out the 30 day period and repurchase the strongest of the list. Your thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks for all the great advice over the years! Dawn

Q: In my TFSA, I’m holding ATZ,CSU,GSY,TOI and LSPD. I’d like to split this year's $6000.00 allotment in January between two of these 5 stocks. At this time considering a 3-5 year hold, what would you suggest and why? Thanks and btw, it’s because of 5i that I’ve been able to achieve an 85 per cent return in my TFSA. The advice and info I glean from the questions, portfolios and reports are invaluable. Keep up the great work on our behalf. Best investment I’ve ever made is joining 5i.

Q: Looking at historic gold/silver charts after economic shocks it seems gold/silver spikes are quite possible in the next few years. Which few companies would you pick to play that possibility?

Q: Looking for guidance for 2022 TFSA contribution in my wife’s account.
Have partial positions in both of the above companies and was going to top both of them up however both have been very volatile and want your opinion if they represent good value here and prospects remain good going forward.
I am specifically concerned about GOOS given how much it has fluctuated this past year.
