Q: Hi Peter,

If you had to lock into 7 Canadian stocks today with no ability to sell for the next ten years, what would you pick? I would appreciate if you could rank in order of conviction.

Thanks as always.

Q: Hi
in regards to the Balanced ETF model portfolio, which ETFs that trade in USD would you recommend in place of VGG and ZSP?
I assume that both of these ETFs provide dividends and would best be held in an RRSP - is that right?
thanks

Q: IRBT got smashed by the market after their earnings on July 28th. They are now trading below their 200 day moving average. From my read of the earnings transcript, things on the top line are going very well, and the earnings disapointment is directly attributable to a shortage in semiconductors, getting caught in the US tariffs on Chinese goods (which they claim will change in the back half of 2021), and supply chain issues. But demand for their products seems to outstrip supply by a wide margin.

My questions: do you think IRBT is a good long term buy right now, or could it drift lower? Are hedgies selling? Is the short interest still high relative the past? Are they making progress with their strategy to switch to recurring revenue? What does the competitive landscape look like?

Thanks

T

Q: Based on my review of Q&A on this co. and your report I have decided it may be best to sell and replace it with something with better growth and momentum. Technically, it is a horrible time to sell, but could get worse. Do you think it may be better to wait for a bounce up, or sell now? Some ideas for replacement: NTR, TPZ, GSY, DOO, LSPD, BLU, TOI, WSP. Could you rank and/or suggest any others?

Q: Hello Peter,
Can you comment on Greenlane's earnings release? Is it worth adding to it? Also, for Nuvei and Well, are both worth adding or just a hold for now? With current numbers for knight, beating on eps and revenues, do you think the company is finally showing signs of upward movement in the stock price ( it is up but are things looking good now). On my last question on Enthusiast Gaming,, is the stock a hold now and any ideas as to why it was not one of the takeover targets ( i know it is speculation but why would you think score over eglx). Much appreciated for your comments.

Q: I'm confused: Your "Shares out" for Verano is stated as 122.23M and that # is the same when I check VRNO's TMX listing but MarketWatch lists the shares out at 131.08M.

VRNO started trading on the CSE on Feb 17/21 after its reverse takeover of Majesta Minerals. It also trades OTC stateside under the ticker VRNOF.

Portions of VRNO's total float are "locked up" in escrow, to be release on the 90th, 180th, 240th, 310th and 400th days following the initial offering on Feb 17/21.

According to a fellow who passes himself off as "MJ Stock Trader" on Twitter, the unlock schedule for Verano is as follows:
1. 17-Feb-21: 60M shares
2. 12-May-21: 42M shares
3. 10-Aug-21: 42M shares
4. 08-Nov-21: 42M shares
5. 06-Feb-22: 42M shares
6. 18-Mar-22: 56M shares

For a total of of 290M shares.

The questions:

(i) Do these numbers represent VRNO's CSE listing or the stateside OTC operation?

(ii) When large chunks of escrowed shares unlock, bidders can make hay of askers, which is what appears to be happening to VRNO this week; how likely is it that the tables will turn in November when another chunk of locked shares unlock and the US fed govt presumably inches closer to legalization?

Thank you!

Q: Retired, I am not what we call an eco-anxious, but I never thought I had experienced such a degradation of the climate in my lifetime. So I put my money where my mouth is. I have sold my all my energy stocks. I bought in place some BEPC and would like to know one or two other suggestions. Are there other green energy solutions? Canadian stocks only.
Thank you for your very helpful advise.

Q: Hello, I'm looking to take a large position (for me!) as part of a generational investment approach and I'm trying to decide between the two or to invest in both.

Here are some the questions I was hoping you could include in your answer:

Do you see these as good candidates for a set-it-and-forget-it long term investment?
What are some of your reasons for preferring one over the other?
Do they ship a similar product mix?
Do they have similar revenue growth - both pipeline and non-pipeline?
Is there a difference in financial health/dividend stability?
Do they ship to similar places? eg Henry Hub for gas/Texas refineries vs cross-Canada vs international shipping ports?
Would you prefer one vs the other or would you allocate a portion in each?
