Q: Hi Peter & 5i team,
Many investors consider cryptocurrency highly speculative or even risky. Recently portfolio managers are adding crypto to their holdings. What would be a good way for the retail investor to add a small percentage ( if any) to their portfolio?
Thank you for your opinions.

Q: After a year I’m back where I started. Hold? Seems there’re lots of interesting US growth stories out there, can you suggest alternatives in industrials/tech space. And thanks for teaching me not to panic sell!

Q: With the markets down so much today (TSX 2.3%; DJIA 2.7%; NASDAQ 2%), what Can or US high quality companies look like significant buys to you? Or do you recommend waiting on the buy side until things settle a bit in the next week or so until more is known about the new COVID variant?

Q: Hi 5i Team,

Upstart, Pinterest and Cerence are all beaten down lately. Do you think they still have future growth potential and are buyable during the current tax loss selling period. If so, pls estimate an entry point respectively.

I understand the risk of these stocks and they are in different sectors.
Pls deduct credits at your discretion.

Thank you for your great advice as alwasys

Q: My broker bought for me positions in three different versions of Brookfield Infrastructure. Is one better than the other to own in an unregistered account?

Q: Everyone.
My thoughts for investing: only invest in the the best of the best; hold long term and stuff will happen to test you.

As I look back on LSPD:
Should I have sold when the short report happened? No because nothing materially changed. The report was fluff and noise.
Should I have sold after the last quarter report? No because there was only a small misstep. High growth companies do have missteps.
Should I have sold when price dropped below 50 or 200 day moving average? No nothing materially changed. Apple and Amazon have dropped below both of those markers.
The only thing that has changed is the price people are willing to purchase shares.
The company strategies are still intact, but should I have sold earlier and what would be the key signal to sell?

Q: Hi folks
Ok...so I woke up this am to world markets down....I decided to buy a bit more BNTX for obvious reasons. It was already up to its highest of the day and I thought it would go up more but that's OK.. my question is...how can a small investor like myself get in before a stock soars? Who are these early, ahead of the game buyers? Seems unfair to me!
Thanks for your steading support and have a warm weekend

Q: Hello Peter,

With the uncertainty created by the new variant likely to impact the economy and delay interest rate hikes I am preparing for extreme market reaction in the margin account where I might have to lighten up the portfolio.
I would appreciate if you could grade the sectors and subsectors to reduce first, from the list below.
Industrials, Technology, Digital payments/lending, Faangs, Online Retailers/commerce and in general high growth(&value) companies that have taken a hit over the last week or so.
I apologize if the question has got jumbled up, but would appreciate your rationalized response.
As always, your opinion and suggestions are highly valued.
Regards
Rajiv

Q: hello 5i Research team,
I understand that the entire sector has been weak for some time. WELL is currently at its 52 week low. Based on technical analysis, what is the next support level? Could you compare WELL stock performance with a basket of North American competitors (name the list of the companies in your basket) since March 1st 2021 when WELL was at 9$ and comment. What could be catalysts for the sector? Have you seen some signs of consolidation in the sector?
Thank you for your collaboration, Eric

Q: What do you think the decision on Friday afternoon by the Canadian Energy Regulator means to Enbridge going forward? But in a decision on Friday afternoon, the Commission of the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) concluded that if long-term contracting were allowed on Mainline, access to the pipeline would change “suddenly and dramatically.” And that, the commission said, meant Western Canadian oil producers “could suffer too many negative consequences.”
