Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Today shareholders approved the TRP spin off of South Bow. Will this ultimately unlock additional value for TRP shareholders and if not, would it be better to sell before the spin off? If its a sell, would CNQ be a good replacement in the same space? Can you suggest any other companies in the same space with a stable and growing dividend? (I already own ENB and Pembina).

Q: Good afternoon, Please recommend your 3 favourite international equity ETFs (without US holdings) and your 3 favourite US market ETFs. I already own QQQ which represents approx. 10% of my RRSP (in US dollars). Further, what are your thoughts on investing in the US market in US dollars (converted using Norbert Gambit) vs. Cnd. dollars? Is there an approach which has generated better results? Thank you.

Q: Hello,
Back in 2015 I started a long-term position in SU, thinking at the time that it was a better choice than CNQ as it was more of an integrated producer.
Didn't really work out that way, but I have done OK and collected a decent yield along the way.
Now that you have added CNQ to your Income portfolio, do you see any value in selling a third to a half of my SU position, buying some CNQ and then continuing to hold both for income long-term?

Q: My US equities are currently split between VIG and DGRO. I am considering selling these two ETFs, and considering VTI and VFMO (Vanguard's Momentum ETF). For a 3-5 year hold, can you please rank these 4 ETFs and provide your rationale. Also, please advise whether there is a better US ETF which you would recommend.

Thank you for this excellent service.

Q: hi, ZRE is up 4.12% since 5i income portfolio purchase ( not sure the exact date of purchase for the income portfolio? ). the unit price is up 21 cents from 10 years ago, or about 1%. so basically holders of the ETF have gotten the dividend but nothing else really. I would have expected the unit price to be up much more than that since 2014, as property values have dramatically increased since 2014, as have rents. can you elucidate for us what is going on here ( im not convinced this is all interest rate action ). im wondering how well this ETF is tracking it's underlying holdings/investment thesis/philosophy? further, do you have data in regards the performance of ETF's in tracking their underlying holdings/investment thesis etc.? my guess is that they all "underperform" as they essentially are just another "equity" on the open stock market, sensitive to the irrationality of the markets? thanks for your insight! chris

Q: Now that the spin off has been approved, which of the two entities do you prefer for an investment? Or do each have their strengths and you like both but for different objectives (if yes, what type of portfolio does each belong in?).
Is one likely to carry the debt burden more than the other?
Thank you as always!
