Q: Recently held LSPD and watch it fall fall and fall. Wish I had sold some.
Have held shop for several years and am now watching it tumble. Understand both are growth stocks and there is a rotation. Is there a price point that Shop would hit where you think one should sell some. Are my concerns justified or is it a wait and be patient and it will return to 2000.00. Realize you do not have a crystal ball but need your advice.

Q: Hi, to compare apples to apples...In 2021 I've held a 80/20 portfolio and returned 19%.
Is there a site you would know of that shows returns for all types of allocations?

Thanks

Q: Hello,

I’ve always wondered why certain companies let their share price run into the thousands and rarely if ever split their shares. For a small retail investor like myself paying 2000- $3000 USD for an Amazon or Alphabet is simply not possible. I’ve always suspected it may be a philosophy of management and or founders who all still have significant influence in the mentioned companies.

Q: Hello great folks:

Any idea why TIXT is so weak here? Is it lumped in with the "high valuation" growth companies, or is it expected to suffer with higher rates?

Bonus question: Gold seems to correlate the best with real rates. If rates move up this year and is successful in moving inflation down, this would seem to be a double whammy against gold. Would you expect gold, and by extension mining stocks, to have a tough year under this scenario?

Q: In response to a question from Stephen, about stocks that pay a monthly dividend, you said “There are not a lot of blue chips that pay monthly.”

I have enjoyed monthly income and a nice (unrealized) capital gain from LWRK for more than a decade.

Would you not consider LWRK to be a “blue chip” that Stephen should consider for monthly retirement income and, if not, why not?

The stock price is well off its highs. Is LWRK good value at current prices?

Q: I have the following bond ETF's: HFR,VSC, ZAG and XHY. They total 22% of my portfolio. My question is do I move out, reduce or shift into different bond investments. I am 70 and they are split evenly in registered and non registered accounts.
Cheers and thanks for your great work. Bob

Q: I have some extra USD money from a small US pension that is used for going to Florida in the winters. Since we have not gone in the last two years, I would like to put some of it in our TFSA. My questions are, if I buy say TD on the NY stock exchange would the dividend in US dollars be subject to 15% withholding tax. Could you please give me several companies I could buy into if this is true. Could you also give me several US companies or ETF's that would give me a dividend and hopefully growth for a long term hold. Thank you for all the help I get for being a member. Gary

Q: Good morning, I have 32 positions spread between the two TFSA's that I manage. I'd like to get that down to 25. The above are holdings that have fallen to less than half positions and I'm wondering if you could suggest 6 or 7 for removal. Also are there any that you would add to in order to bring them up to half positions. Secondly, without knowing my weightings, do you have a suggested sector or two for this years TFSA contribution?

Q: Happy New Year!
As a broad-ish generalisation, could one substitute 'structured notes' as an asset class in a portfolio with one or more covered call ETFs?
