Q: Hi, Small/Mid Cap sector is performing really well and most of 5i portfolio constituents have seen a remarkable recovery over past few weeks. However, this one continues to languish, with no momentum in sight. What's causing investors to be so negative on the company, despite solid results and swelling order book ? Is there anything, in your view, which could change the market sentiment ?

Q: Can you pls recommend a hedged fund following the US S&P 500 but with low / no high tech content. Something like TPU.TO but without tech? looking for 10% return over first year including both yield and capital appreciation. Tx.
- Franco-Nevada Corporation (FNV)
- Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. (WPM)
- Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (AEM)
- Gold Fields Limited American Depositary Shares (GFI)
Q: Hello 5i, I've held FNV at 2% weight for the past 6 years as a hedge and precious metal/materials component. It's total return is close to 8%. Shares are in a non-registered account so modest cap gain if I sell. My question is should I hold or sell for WPM , AEM or GFI. All three have materially outperformed FNV past 5 years. Based on your outlook, does it make any sense to trade FNV for WPM or others or just hold in the anticipation of FNV sorting out their issues in Panama, etc? Thanks for all you do.
Q: Do you know why SMCI dropped over 8% today?
Q: whats up with earnings catalyst details on any numbers thanks
Q: You've stated that "We do not think conditions are in place for giant problems, and would be fine staying mostly fully invested."
Historically, every time we have an inverted yield curve paired with a flattening fed funds rate, the market has suffered steep declines when the fed cuts and the yield curve normalizes.
Given that these conditions are currently in place, why do you think a more cautious approach is not warranted?

Q: potential what do you like?
Q: Hi Everyone at 5i!
I have a 27 year old nephew who would like to open a TFSA. He is putting $5000 in to start which he will gradually add to. He is looking for a growth ETF concentrated on the US market. Would VFV suit his needs, or should he consider something else??
Cheers,
Tamara

Q: In the past few months we have purchased a 3% position in LMN at a cost of 33.73 per share. We are currently content to hold these shares indefinitely. Currently LMN's parent (CSU) has about 20 million shares outstanding while LMN has about 250 million shares. As a sometime sceptic, I wonder if the creation of LMN (and TOP) by CSU is a tool for CSU to raise capital? Appreciate any comments you may have on this. Much thanks.

Q: Hi, as a follow-up to my previous question regarding a switch from Google to Microsoft. Would you expect similar returns in the near term or do you favour one over the other? Thanks

Q: Value investor with some growth, 78 years old with good pension. I am slightly overweight in financials as above. I now see that I own both BKCC and HMAX. I do not seem to need both. I intend to sell BKCC and buy AW.UN to take advantage of its current situation. Does this sound like a plan or are there pitfalls?
Thank you

Q: Good Day,
I redid my portfolio early this year based on much of your feedback. And of those picks, Every single one of them was up, most significantly so, at least once, since that time. Some have returned/fell below those buy levels.
1. DRX, HPS, LMN and VRT, seem to have consolidated up a healthy amount, do these appear to be new support levels from which they'll continue to grow? Still Aces in your books?
2. SMCI is furthest from this years high, what are the main barriers it would have to reaching that high again in the coming year? In your opinion is it likely to get there within 12-18months?
3. NXT, CELH, CDNS, DCBO, and ATS all went significantly up, and almost as precipitously down. They seem to languish. I doubled down (half to full) on CELH on the first big drop in April, which seemed worth it in May, but less so now. Do you have faith in these names still? Is their prospect for growth still the same as it was in February? Are there new names in this Growth profile (or what is was in February) that you are more confident in? With your suggestions here, please rank them with these names from highest to lowest prospects/confidence.
4. AMD. Is it worth holding the 2nd fiddle? Would it be better used in something in 1st in a different space? like AVGO or QCOM?
5. DIS. Been very up and down on this half position. Worth going to a full at this point, or would you want to see the ship righted a bit more before increasing? Would you sell a Disney holding?
AMZN, GOOG, NVDA, TVK, DRX, POWL, TCS and CROX all doing their thing for me :), suggestions other than these please.
Thanks for all you do! Please take however many credits you need.

Q: How would you rate this bond fund? Is there a better alternative in terms of performance, risk and cost?
Q: Thank you for your recent report on Pollard.
Would you be able to estimate the value of PBL should they be unsuccessful to bid on any new iLottery contracts once the current NPi iLottery contracts expire? Where would the stock trade at in this worst-case scenario, if PBL remained a classic scratch card business along with its charitable gaming part? Thank you.

Q: Following up on your excellent article comparing CASH & XBB.
I like the current 4.95% rate on CASH. '
As interest rates come down would the yield on CASH drop at the same rate ?
Thanks.

Q: RZLV (recently listed) is not yet in the 5i database. I watched the investor presentation on the company website and it seems like an impressive e-commerce related Ai offering to my naive eye. Wondering what your opinion is on this potential investment. I assume this is a very competitive space.

Q: Hi Folks,
Trimming some ABBV and PFE in my RRSP account. Thinking of adding either ISRG or LMAT to my somewhat balanced account. May I have your opinion as to which one you favour today and why? Thanks
