Q: Retired relying on DB pension. In small cap growth oriented TFSA holding PMZ now above ACB so it is on sell list. Dilemma: where to add the funds to above list of existing TFSA holdings? How would 5i rank existing holdings in terms of probability of highest growth in next 2 to 3 years?

Q: TOI was spun out of CSU around 4 years ago, with the goal of having a smaller and faster growing company. Since the spinoff, both companies have done very well, yet CSU has outperformed. Do you think that the spinoff thesis is still intact? Or is it too early to make this call?

Thanks.

Q: hello 5i:
we've owned JPIE for just under a year now and am very happy with returns, and low volatility. Two questions:
One: is performance mostly due to timing eg. expectations of lower interest rates, meaning if expectations reverse, price would fall?
Two: what would you consider to be direct competitors to JPIE, possibly with less risk, when (not if) rates begin to rise again?
thanks

Q: You had some previous thoughts on this one. I'm attracted to the 9-10% dividend but concerned about your previous comments that this one could be "hurt" by lowering interest rates. I guess that is why it is near a 52 week low. Any thoughts on this one now and as we head into 2025 ... is the ~ 9% dividend safe...it's been at ~ $ 17 for almost 2 years ... is the share price safe at around that level ?

Q: Hi there, I own Cameco and intend to do so for the long term. Normally I like to follow one of your portfolios so I can buy / sell when you do and don't need to think too hard about it. But Cameco is not in that portfolio. Two questions (deduct credits accordingly please):

1. What are your thoughts on Cameco for a long-term holding generally?

2. What "user instructions" would you share for a person owning this stock in particular? Eg would you suggest taking profits now and again if/when it's up, because it's cyclical, etc.? One of your recent responses on a different question got me thinking about this.

Thanks very much.

Q: I hold all 3 companies and have been doing really well with CSU. The other 2 LMN and TOI have been a roller coaster, especially LMN. Luckily, both positions are very small in comparison to CSU (phew!!)
CSU - current price $4142 ish.
LMN - current price $33 ish
TOI - current price $130 ish.
Please recommend in which order you would add to, at today's prices (most preferred to least preferred). All are long term plays. Thank you very much.

Q: In a recent Market Update (Aug 22) you spoke of the power of compounding and the key characteristics of a high compounding stock such as higher volatility, strong sales growth, lower dividends, premium valuations, etc. As a follow up to this topic could you please provide the 5 best US companies (or more if you wish) which you consider to fit these characteristics for long term compounding. Many thanks. Cal

Q: Hi Guys
Quite surprised Baytex has dropped $1 off share price in the last month off what seemed to be an already discounted share price.. Any insights into why it is off so much versus other Oil and Gas companies? Also Baytex always is in the top ten traded stocks on the TSX each day. Any idea what that is? does it attract more speculators?

Thanks

Stuart

Q: As a retiree with no pension, I am a dividend oriented investor, and over the last couple years have acquired some of the high yielding covered call ETFs. The yields are often twice what one could get without the covered call, and the ROC helps with OAS clawback. However, there seem to be more and more of these ETFs popping up, which makes me wonder - how big is the options market relative to the options trading by these funds? Now obviously they don't sell/buy options on all their holdings, but is there any chance they could end up basically betting against each other? Who are the major players in options trading? Do you see any problems with the proliferation of these funds, here or in the US?
Thank-you
