Q: My accrued gains from the last few years on these tech stocks are evaporating. I'm thinking of selling the works and buying an energy ETF like IXC. Does this trade make sense?

Q: I hold two major mining companies based on inflation expectations and yield.

With the current conflict in Europe came a surge in commodity prices and the threat of sanctions against the major Russian production of such strategic metals as aluminum.

I looked at the operations of both companies and didn't see anything significant in Russia that might suffer from sanctions or even expropriation. I would have expected both to move sharply higher.

They both dropped with the invasion of Ukraine. I'm missing something. What is it?

Q: Could you please indicate which of Treasury Bills, GICs, NHA MBSs, and Canada Mortgage Bonds in general pay the highest rate of interest. Also, could you grade from lowest to highest risk? In view of the possibility that interest rates will rise would you wait to purchase, or if rates do rise would the increase be sufficient, in your opinion and not knowing the amount to be invested, to make a significant difference?
Thank you for considering my questions.

Q: 65 yr old retiring this year. I hold the following: XAW (35%), XBB (20%), XIC (12%), CDZ (7%), ZSP (7%), VTI (7%), ZIC, VTI and ENB at 5% each.
In view of the current conditions, would you increase the fixed asset portion and reduce equity? Which ones would you add to and which ones would you reduce/remove?

Q: You use the term the current market craziness a few times for the fall in high growth companies. I feel the same market craziness could have been for the same high growth companies at the top of the market and there valuations. I think the market is finally taking these companies to the value that they actually are.

Q: Dear 5i team.

Please provide updated analysis of recent earnings and outlook for FY22/23.
Interested in any views on the departure of the CEO. I missed the conf call so also curious if there was any update on the battle with investor agitators?

Looks to me like things might be turning the corner given covid being more and more in the rear view mirror. I know they depend on commercial (re)construction which have been postponed/delayed last couple of years.

Thanks for your insights.

Q: I would like to know how much cash you think someone should hold all the time. I do not believe in being fully invested all the time, because then you lose out on buying opportunities during major dips, as we are seeing now.

Do you recommend keeping 10% 15% or 20% of the total portfolio value in cash?

Thank-you

Q: Hi 5i Team - Trilogy has been drifting steadily downward and recently dropped substantially, apparently due to some news about the Ambler Access Project. Could you explain the concern that this has caused. Also could you provide an update on the company itself, its fundamentals and potential. I have been holding this stock for some time now for its copper resources and need to decide whether to switch to something else in the same field. If you feel there are better possibilities, could you provide two or three suggestions. Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter and team, I don't hold any of the above stocks and they have done very well the last 2 years. I do own some of your favorites like BAM, TOI, CUS, SHOP and LSPD etc. How would you rank the above stocks and would they be good buy when the dust finally settles.

Regards
Anthony
