Q: there's some fringe companies doing experiments with magic mushrooms to treat anxiety, depression and a number of other ailments. If this takes off do you think this could have lots of upside , or will this be attacked by large drug makers whose patented drugs could loose market share ? Thanks alot.

Q: PPR recently sent out a proxy vote. Upon signing into the website, I changed the “Appointee” to me. It stated: You or your designate must attend the meeting for your vote to be counted.” This is the first time I’ve seen such a requirement. I disagree with the statement. Last year with Covid a lot of companies wanted their shareholders to stay away from meetings, yet their votes counted. Now PPR is withholding a shareholders vote, due to mandatory attendance. Would they have a company bylaw to allow this and Is it setting a precedence?
Q: I bought into the story and concept of Topicus being a Constellation 2.0 junior. However, the S.P. performance has been anything but. Can you provide the top 3 reasons to own this (I am currently down 25%), I am hanging on for the simple fact I do not want to miss out for when this changes course. What timeline should I have in mind for better days and performance.
Q: Hi 5i Team,
Could you please give me your analysis and opinion of MTL and DXT? How do you see the next few years playing out for them in a high inflationary environment and rising interest rates? Do you see a place for them in a well diversified, higher risk, income oriented portfolio?
CRP has also caught my attention with food prices the way they are and no let up in sight. What is your current opinion of CRP? Do you think it might be good holding for a trade until food prices show some sign of stabilizing?
Many Thanks for the Great Service,
Colin

Q: Hello, I have some mutual funds in my account at InvestorLine. Are the amounts shown as « Paid by third parties » « Commission de suivi » tax-deductible as financial expenses? Thanks
Q: Could I get your comments about buying PDI.UN in an RRSP? The price has come down substantially (as might be expected), it is trading near its NAV, and it appears to have never missed a dividend. I recognize the high fees, but the 12% yield has caught my attention. What do you think of its holdings (in general and how risky), do you think the dividend is sustainable under current conditions, and would you see the price moving back up a bit if rates don't go much lower? If buyable, would you buy now or wait a bit longer on rates.
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Would appreciate if you could provide comments on their latest quarterly report.

Q: Hello 5I,
I am down 40% on multiple US Marijuana stocks. The ones that are taxable accounts I am considering selling and buying other stocks with potential to triple or more over the next 5 years plus. What would be your highest conviction picks to be able to accomplish these returns in US and Canada? Maybe 5 options for each? Thanks

Q: Please recommend, especially during this uncertain economic times, two to three Consumer Staple stocks to hold, again for longer than 5 years. My aim is 5 % yield but I do understand that yields for good quality companies are usually low. I would be happy to invest in those with really strong growth down the road. This is what I have compiled with: NWC, PBH, ATD, EMP.a, L, MRU. By all means, please include ones that you feel would serve this purpose.
Thank you again for your insight. Roger

Q: Hi Team,
Would you sell ATA and BYD at a capital loss for tax purposes? Would you wait 30 days and re-buy or prefer to move on? If so, what top 5 CDN or USD would you suggest?
Thanks

Q: Can I get your take on Olympia’s latest quarter. I’ve been slowly increasing my position size here as this company seams to benefit materially from raising rates and doesn’t have the same flattening yield curve stigma that banks contend with (or recently increased tax rate). What do you think of this arguement. I realize this is a small cap so it’s not for everyone and my relative position size is small (especially compared to the banks which I own a lot more of haha)

Q: I read your answer to a question regarding tax loss selling where you said that you were "endorsing tax-loss harvesting right now". I've taken some profits and have the following stocks that are down and can utilize: AMZN, VISA, DIS, TFII and GSY - can you recommend which ones I should sell and if you would be okay buying them back after the 30 days?

Q: What are a few smaller/aggressive growth-oriented names in Canada and the US that you think have the potential to work out quite well w/ a 5+ year timeframe, and that are not too likely to go out of business in a prolonged recession?

Q: I almost missed the notice that the Directors of DM had purchased almost 2.5 million shares of the company last month which I see as positive but I also noticed when reading the FSZ information circular that 3 of the 4 Directors I was asked for vote for did not own a single share of FSZ. Needless to say they did not get my vote and I will now look to sell my FSZ in the near future. If the Directors aren't willing to own shares in their company then neither will I.
