Q: hi, it may be in a previous answer, if so please, humour me. I am wondering why the forward EPS estimates have come down so much for SHOP? was there a fundamental issue that occurred, did they issue new shares? I thought SHOP was still in big growth mode. also, depending on where you look, research companies investing media etc, they all seem to have different values for the EPS, both trailing and forward? could you provide your numbers for these please. thanks, chris

Q: What do you think of Tesla, they are just stretching such a big lead on the next guy and it continues, the first quarter numbers are up and its insane, they put out 310000 cars in the last quarter, mustang put out 58000 all of last year, this year they want to triple it but already they are out of chips. Tesla spends 3 times the RD per car that other builders do. They had 14 cars left in inventory at the end of the last quarter. They are sold out until 2023. Two huge additions will come on line this year, Giga Berlin ( already going and putting out a "sold" car every 150 seconds, Giga Texas coming in the next few months. They are secure in their access to nickel. Seeing Giga Berlin build cars is just fantastic, incredible automation, the giga press. It seems all is roses and just starting to ramp up, do these incredible numbers make a statement for the stock? buy, sell or hold?
thanks, Jean

Q: Some talk of chances of fed engineering a soft landing are low. Inflation too high and it isn’t transitory and tightening will likely put us into a recession in 2023. Is a recession a very likely scenario for 2023?

Q: Please help me balance out one of my portfolios. It is tilted heavily to quality us stocks- GOOGL, TMO, MSFT, DIS, SYK, NVDA, BKNG, ACN,BLK, SBUX,ADP,IDXX, ADOBE, EL, AND XYL.
My canadian stocks are BAM,TD, CNR, FSV, SHOP AND TSU.

I would like to increase canadian exposure--- would you suggest gradually
adding to an etf such as xic or could you suggest a few canadian stocks
that would be suitable in this investing envioronment such as energy, materials etc to balance out this portfolio.

Q: What are your opinions on BIPC and BIP.UN?

I hold these in registered accounts and now they account for ~9% of my total portfolio and when I consider the fact I hold BAM.A these Brookefield names would represent ~12 % of my portfolio. As a result I am tempted to trim BIPC or BIP.UN.

If I were to trim do you have any preference/recommendation to trim one over the other or both equally?

Q: Which would you choose if only one were to be added to a portfolio? I have owned SYK and know it to be a relatively steady-eddy company but one that has had some solid growth over the years. ISRG showed very promising stock appreciation but that has certainly cooled off over the past several months. Which do you feel has the better total upside over the next 5 years?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: I entered a 5000 share buy order on a fairly actively traded TSX.V company (approx. 100K shares daily trading). My buy order was filled with 500 shares (exactly) per trade every 2 minutes, exactly according to the time stamp on the order. Can you comment on what appears to be a peculiar selling pattern.? Is it some sort of "computer" generated selling process and what might it be a sign of?

Q: For investors seeking to capitalize directly on what looks to be an impending rate hike bonanza through the end of this year (and possibly into 2023), what options are there to look at?

TTT (US) seems like the only decent option but it only offers exposure to longer term rates (20y) which could take a while to respond to higher rates on the short end. Any options you can provide me to investigate are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! I learned my IPO lesson with Rivian and it hurts!! A good solid loss. I was thinking of selling what little funds I have left and buying some Mullen Automotive. It is a much smaller stock but seems to be beating earnings. Your thoughts??? Would I be going from the fire into the frying pan???Cheers, Tamara
