Q: Last year I chose my bank investment by choosing the worst performer from the prior year. I di that wih CM and had a retun of almost 16%.

For 2024 it seems like a nose to nose rate for the worst performing Canadian bank between BNS and TD.

Can you confirm that as of December 29th which was the worst performer?

Q: In my US denominatedm growth-focused TFSA, I own CRM, PYPL, TOL, AAPL, GOOG, ADBE, QCOM, and NVDA. It is time for me to make my annual contribution.

I am underweight PYPL; should I add to it or replace PYPL with something else? If I should replace it, please suggest two or three good candidates for long-term growth, US-based, sector/cap size unimportant, risk profile somewhere between that of your growth and balanced portfolios. If I remove PYPL, I'd rather add a new position than add to one of my current positions.

In your answer, please do not include MSFT, IBM, PFE or MDT, since I have full positions in these in my other accounts.

I've been a 5i member since 2016 and have been served well by your service; thanks for a great seven years. I remember starting a position in CSU at around $600 and thinking I was 'too late'.

Q: Hello, As a result of the spinoff I own BAM and BN.. As I understand it: BN remains BAM’s largest shareholder with a 75% ownership stake. And since BN has exposure to several business sectors, I am thinking of keeping my 1100 shares of BN and sell the 275 shares of BAM?

Q For 5i: Thoughts on weak $USD thesis relative to $CAD in the short, intermediate, and long term? Do you believe the US FED will cut further or faster than BOC? How does the 5i team see CAD/USD going forward.

i.e. if owning both USD and CDR versions of the same equity, where could one consolidate into, etc.

Please rank each of these holdings from "Sell Now - least likely to benefit from a declining rate environment" to "Avoid Selling - should do very well in a declining rate environment". Q: What are your views on Spin Master as a long-term investment? I've held it for a couple of years and it hasn't done much. It seems like they are a well run company and their recent acquisition strikes me as a good one. But will the stock deliver comparably solid long term returns or should I move on?

Q: I hold TD in my portfolio. I've read a couple articles recently highlighting that RY has performed much better than TD in recent years, pointing to RY's higher ROI investments (i.e. focusing on Canadian operations and US Wealth Management) relative to TD (i.e. focusing on US Retail banking, and their recent failed acquisition).

What are your general views on this comparison from an investing perspective and would you replace TD for another Canadian bank such as RY? Which of the Canadian banks would you select as a long-term "set it and forget it" investment based on sound management and, of course, expected stock returns.
