Q: Can you please take a look at GMG Graphene’s recent announcements and add your thoughts on Phase 1 and the market for A/C graphene coating. Please also comment on their partnerships with Rio Tinto, Bosch and Wood. What is the future market potential for Aluminum Graphene batteries? The stock seems to be holding up in this market…what would it take for you guys to be interested in this industry and in this particular small cap stock as well.

PS and thank you on your previous answer on Tantalus Systems(GRID)I will be renewing my subscription with 5i for years to come. Cheers🍺

Q: Hi, you mention short interest from time to time. Using MTTR as an example, you say that short interest is very high at 15%. I assume this is a negative as there are a lot of shorts (or shares short) that want to drive the price down. However, some view this as a positive as any good news can force all the shorts to cover. There are also different views on days to cover. MTTR shows 6 days. Some view higher numbers, such as 10, as positive as it means there could be a sustained rally if the shorts have to spread out their buying over a longer period rather than a quick spike.

What short interest levels and number of days to cover do you view as being positive or negative influences on a stock price?
Thanks

Q: I had inadvertently marked the following question 'private' and am now sharing it, along with your response. I also have a follow up question: please rate ENB and AQN on a scale of 1-10 for both growth and safety over the next couple of years. Thank you.

Wanting to dip my toe back into the market with a 2.6% total portfolio investment. My goal is to purchase stock in a Canadian company with a dividend >2%, that is anticipated to experience strong growth in the next 2 years and is not particularly volatile. Please rank the following on a scale of 1-10 for both growth and safety: MG, SLF, TCN, LNF, and IIP.UN. Other than GSY, X, BEP and BIP (already held) are there any other Canadian companies you would recommend that would meet my criteria? Thank you.

5I RESEARCH ANSWER:
For growth: MG 6; SLF 4; TCN 7; LNF 5; IIP.UN 4

For safety: MG 7, SLF 8, TCN 4, LNF 6, IIP.UN 7

We might add ENB, AQN, X to this list.

Q: Hello

Presently ATZ is 4.29% of my RRSP account. I have done well as a result of your help.

I am thinking of selling half of my ATZ and increasing my holding in GOOG that is only 1% of my RRSP holdings.

My thinking is GOOG is huge and appears to be safer based on its size.

Your comments please.

Thank you

Mike

Q: I went to cash towards the end of last year in my TFSA. It turned out to be the right move at the time but 8 months later I am still in cash and suffering from whatever the opposite of FOMO is. As a senior, who lives off investments without any employer pension, my target return is any combination of growth and income at 6% -10% or better. While I am prepared for reasonable risk I can't afford to lose the TFSA headroom for a 3-5 years while a stock recovers. I am looking for 8-10 positions and would appreciate suggestions.

Q: With 1,000 shares of Alexco I will wind up with 116 shares of Hecla. I'm inclined to just sell and take my losses since I have no other US stocks. Any suggestions??

Q: I am thinking of the selling the above stocks for a tax loss as I am down significantly. Could you rank these stocks as to which you would sell first to last.
Also I still have quite a bit of stock in technology and was thinking of investing the money in a general ETF mimicking the market. Which ETF would you recommend.
