Q: Can you please comment on Digital Turbine (APPS) latest earnings released yesterday. Was there anything of particular interest to note from the call this morning (either good or bad)? Has paying off debt continue to improve? Would you recommend adding to a position that is down from its high or give it more time? Held in a TFSA so tax loss is not an option.
Q: Hi Team,
I hold the following 3 aggressive names in a US cash account (sq, rblx, apps). As a group they are down 65% , in close to equal weighting’s . What do I do with this mess? Hold at this point waiting for recovery ? Consolidate into a different safer name? Any chance for these 3 with a 3-5yr time frame ? Or is it time to take the loss and high grade to something such as a goog ? Or Maybey crox in a different sector ? Or …hope for a aggressive pop at some point , then high grade later ? Your opinion is appreciated .
Q: Hi,
I think UPST was down on every possible metric in its earnings report. Did you see anything at all positive? Do you still see it as a Hold?
Thanks
Q: Wanting to top up my GSY holding. Do you believe tax loss selling will drive the price lower as we reach the end of the year? (I feel I may have missed the boat as its gone up 10% in the last couple of weeks.) Thanks.
Q: In your reply to Shane you said "we think an investor who chooses the right stocks, and can do nothing for three years, is going to see some very hefty returns when this thing turns"; please elaborate and give me a few names. Thanks.
Q: I noticed in a recent answer, you suggested SE as a current buy recommendation. I’m down over 75% on this one but have been wondering about adding to my position. Are there particular growth drivers that you foresee for it, over a longterm (years) hold? Thank you.
Q: Hi 5i, looking for help taming the RIETs part of my portfolio as i own all of the above. Can you help me with selling some REITs (anything I've doubled up on or is not the best choice). I am planning on redistributing the funds to the remaining REITs. As usual your help is appreciated, if you could rank them also that would be great.
Q: The Q3 results seemed fine, and guidance is positive so why did CJ get hit so hard today (down 12 per cent). Other oil names were down as well but nothing was down as sharply as CJ. Is there something that I missed? I like the 6 cent per month divvy and now that the debt has been dramatically reduced I feel CJ can continue to pay the divvy even if WTI drops down to the $70 ish range. Is there something here not to like than a recession pulling down demand for oil and subsequently price per barrel?
Q: Parex is starting to look so tempting that I am considering it again despite an anti-oil government now in charge in Columbia. The dollar a year dividend now yields well over 5 per cent and I estimate that at least 20 per cent of PXT's market cap is covered by net cash on the balance sheet. I sold out of PXT in the high $20's before the Columbian elections but I promised to revisit is it went sub$20. It is now below hence the revisit. If the Petro government were to get really radical and decide to nationalize the foreign oil and gas (and mining for that matter) companies what kind of compensation might be paid (I am sure had some experience with that back in your Sprott days!!) I recall The Harper government getting a free trade deal between Canada and Columbia. Does a deal like that make nationalization much more difficult? I wouldn't waste your time on PXT but at sub $19 it is really tempting!!!
