Q: If Trump wins the election in November, he has threatened to write executive orders against development of wind power as well as reduce incentives for all clean energy, wile promoting fossil fuels. You have often liked BEPC for a safe long-term investment (and I own a full position in it). How much will a Trump victory hurt the future growth of BEPC?

Q: Quite some time ago I asked 5i for a comparison of JD and AMZN . JD was the clear winner on valuation but 5i favored AMZN. I bought JD anyway and took a bath on it . But according to your disclaimer so did you. { Either that or you've held a short position for a world record time } ..... I liked the company when it was $83 and I still like the company now though it has slipped to a 1% position in my portfolio .... Just saw their earnings report which was a beat and it looks like they are doing some interesting expansions. Could 5i offer an opinion on the expansions ? And which would you give the edge to, JD or PDD and why ? ..... And do you see the " China Factor " as continuing to plague these companies ? With the U.S. talking trade war I am a bit leery in spite of these extremely attractive valuations ......
Q: Given the chance of a second Trump Presidency and the likelihood of tariffs, loss of democracy and full on graft and favouritism what Canadian companies are likely to thrive or at a minimum survive? Is there a defensive strategy that would work for either result in the election or is it one direction with Trump and another with Biden?

Q: If Trump wins this election i am considering moving most of my investments into the US market. I think that Canada amongst others will suffer thru his direction (dictatorship) and US stocks will do well. Would you have any stock recommendations should this election play out this way. Thx, James
Q: Good morning; I read an article in the G&M on the weekend regarding the remote possibility (should Trump win) that they may change how the US Fed operates; affecting its independence and role as the world currency.
Crazier things have happened and with 50% of my investments in $US it got me wondering - if the US Finaincial system were subject to such change, which currency could/would replace it? I’d be interested in your view of the likely top 3.
Thanks very much,
Dave

Q: Just out of curiosity, what do you think about Mr. Trump’s company (Truth Social) that has recently gone public? I see that it’s up 11.99% at the moment, is it the novelty effect that’s causing this? Thank you
Q: Good afternoon,
Long-term holder of SIS and barely above water. It seems like the potential has always been there, and decent div, but based off of some of your recent comments I'm wondering if a switch to ATS may make sense - both industrials, yes no Div (but growth trumps div's), and it actually appears ATS is cheaper than SIS on PE (though not on P:book).
3-5 years out, which do you feel has more potential to outperform the other? Thanks in advance. - Jeff

Q: I have a crystal ball question regarding the potential market reaction to One or both US Presidential candidates not being available to govern due to health or "alleged" illegal indiscretions. Is there a precedent of such an occurrence historically?
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Good morning,
Have you done any work on what asset classes or equity sectors significantly outperformed/underperformed while Trump was President from 2016-2020. I recall that that the USD did not do well; gold did very well.
Any views/analysis most welcome. And would you be worried about overall market directionality with his expected focus on China and tariffs?

Q: I am concerned about the US political situation. Should Trump manage to win the upcoming election and the US loses its democracy, I fear that this will not be good for the financial markets. Do you know what the results were in other countries that elected far right political parties? I have a sizable portfolio that is almost 50% weighted to the US. I would like to know how to prepare for this possibility short of selling all our US investments. Thank you
Q: Good morning, I hope you and the office are enjoying the last full week of summer. I would like your 30+ years of insight on this "largest monopoly trial in modern era" with the DOJ and Google. Is this something to be concerned about? Haven't we been here before ?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: If Russia drops a nuclear bomb in Ukrainian territory ( a scenario becoming more likely every day ), the question of whether a company’s stock has a compelling P/E ratio is irrelevant.
Forget inflation, forget Covid, forget Trump, forget budget deficits, forget supply chain. Follow Russia/ Ukraine.
Please help me to decide not to sell everything, stock up on cans of beans and head for the hills.
Thanks
Derek

Q: Hi 5i Team - Trilogy has been drifting steadily downward and recently dropped substantially, apparently due to some news about the Ambler Access Project. Could you explain the concern that this has caused. Also could you provide an update on the company itself, its fundamentals and potential. I have been holding this stock for some time now for its copper resources and need to decide whether to switch to something else in the same field. If you feel there are better possibilities, could you provide two or three suggestions. Thanks.
Q: Your thoughts on RUMBLE SPAC. Thanks
Q: Earnings released after close. Revenue growth appears very strong but loss increased. Can you comment on results and if the revenue growth trumps poor earnings. What do you see happening going forward. I'm warming up to QUIS. Is it a speculative buy?
Q: DWAC, DWACW Would you please give your opinion on these two stocks, what is the relationship , how do you feel about them
thanks 5i,

Q: Is there a technical support level where these types of names get attractive or do political influences trump tools like this?
Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and 5i Team.
My question is regarding position weightings. I have trimmed TFII once since I have owned it but it continues to run and now represents about 8% of the account it is in. (Thank you so much for the original recommendation) I have owned CSU since $88 (Thanks again) and trimmed it along the way as well. After the last time I trimmed CSU I vowed to never trim it again unless Mark Leonard sells out or the wheels really fall off. How do you approach position weightings when the trend is your friend ? Thank you for your ongoing help. DL

Q: Considering the Biden "Buy American" executive order, how significantly can you see it impacting STLC and CIA? Thank you
