Q: I was looking for some more detail on your double down approach. My position in AYA has increased from 7%, to now 14% of my portfolio. I am ok with the risk of having a very concreated position as i regularly have positions over 10%. My question is what would you use as a trigger to purchase more AYA, or would you just let the market price increase and increase the position. Would you wait for a 25% gain and then by more or some other approach. As always great service.

Q: Hello 5I

I have recently seen an analyst report looking at forward earnings for AYA. I believe that they estimated 2.50/share for F2016. A forward multiple of 15x would put AYA into the 37.50/sh range. My questions are:
1 Do you believe that this is a reasonable projection based on the current state of the company?
2 Do you foresee any issues with the shareholders rejecting the deal and/or the deal not going through?

I have already trimmed this position once after the news came out -at a tidy profit- and it is currently sitting at 10% of the PF. As this is a conservative PF I would rather play it safe however most of the initial capital has been recouped from the trimming.

As always I look forward to your thoughts!
Have a safe charity ride and stay healthy!

Q: Hi 5i Team
A question about the income portfolio. The names that you have not done a report on that are on the portfolio. How do you decide to choose these names over others in the same sector?
If you were to be doing the yearly report right now, would AYA remain on the income portfolio with such a huge gain on this stock that has already happened?
Thanks
Kathy

Q: re: AYA & June 22 answer for Jeff re weighting

I see your comments for Jeff on portfolio weighting as being very wise and are comments we should all respect.

Originally my portfolio weighting for AYA was 2%. With the recent rise it is up to 4.6%. Should I be trimming this down?

You know that little voice inside my head wants me to just "let it ride."

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: Peter and Team,

Any thought on Amaya's announcement this mornging that they are increasing the size of the preferred share offering? They are convertible at $24 so my first thought was that this is good and that there is demand from the group of pros investing here for stock at $24. However, I wonder why Amaya would do this... I thought they knew how much money they needed to do this deal when it was originally announced. What are the new funds to be used for?

Thoughts?

Q: Based on the price appreciation of Amaya this month the Model Portfolio weighting has likely gone from 5-6% to 10-11%, unless there's been a reallocation, as there was in May. I get the philosophy of not wanting a position to get too large in a portfolio but surely this idea might be counterbalanced sometimes by the idea of letting your profits run (and not adding to your losers) particularly on a stock that has such a great promise. If profits were taken on AYA on the way up, at what point was the decision made to do so, and what was the rationale behind it? Thanks, J.
