Q: 16% of my portfolio is made up of the above listed stocks.
All are relatively volatile compared to the rest (84%) of my holdings
Do you consider these holdings and their weights to represent excessive risk to a portfolio?
Which of these stocks would you keep and which would you sell to reduce the risk?
Many thanks
John

Q: Good morning

If you had a 2 year period and could take a calculated risk to see some good capital appreciation...what 2 US stocks would you buy right now? also what 2 CDN stocks would you buy or be adding too...No concerns on portfolio diversification or taxes..

Thanks

Matt

Q: TFI - TFSA or Unregistered account?

Bought 2.5% position in Cov on spec at $7 based on 5i's recommendation. Hold on or take the money and run?

RHT / TSGI- average down or be patient?

Thanks. Keep up the excellent work.

Best Regards,

KC

Q: Hi Peter/Ryan,

I bought TSGI at 40 in my RESP account and it is down 20%. I was thinking of buying at current price of about 32 in my TFSA account. However, Scotiaitrade research team rating on TSGI is HOLD (Thomson Reuters, Valueengine). I would appreciate your opinion in terms of should I wait for some good news before I add more money into this stock.

Thanks
Ninad

Q: Hexo (Hydropothecary) has an activist investor that owns 2.5% of shares is pushing for HEXO to put the company up for sale , privatize it etc What percentage of a company does an institution require before it can push for any change? Is HEXO required to take action? If the company is to put it up for sale and assume it gets $10 per share, would a similar price be offered to shareholders if it goes private (rather than selling publicly). I can see why the activist is pushing for change as HEXO has made significant progress (in deals) and the price has not reflected the positive aspects incomparison to other companies like Canopy, Tilray etc Do you think HEXO will take this seriously (I know it is speculative on your part, but from your experience) Lastly, Stars group is now in the dog category and moving well below 200 day average. This is not good news. Comments please

Q: 5I bought it at $49. Here's my chance to get it cheaper for $42. Down 22% in a matter of a week or so. I knew I wasn't buying a blue chip stock but I didn't think I was speculating either. Setting aside the issue of " Comfort Level ". I had no problem taking a 5% position in ENB when it was volatile because it was a blue chip stock....What level of investment product did I buy ? Why should I stick with it ? I have a 2.2% position in TSGI. If it is a good company should I increase that to 4% or just weather the storm ? Are there better opportunities elsewhere ?

Q: Q1: I am a big fan of 5i, so I ask what is going-on with the above-noted solidly-recommended-by-5i company, the share price of which company has collapsed since July 19 (at $50) to below $34 today (and currently down more than 8% from just the last trading day (Fri Aug 31) and down a whopping 32% from July 19)?
Q2: I purchased large into The Stars Group on June 29 at $44.50. Any thoughts/comments/suggestions on a going-forward basis with the stock price now being below $34?

Q: I'm currently invested in (and seem to be treading water on) SCHW. Given your confidence in GC, I'm wondering if a switch might be prudent? One concern is that I already own TSGI (Thank you!) and I am wondering if this would be a bit redundant?

Q: Regarding the above companies, do you see any short term catalysts or is a modicum patience required? I know I Just answered the question.

I deployed my available cash on the dips and am hopeful of a return back to the prices before the dips.

While I know averaging down is not the smartest strategy, it was too hard to resist.

I took a chance on ATD on the dip and it went well. Now I think I am brilliant. Will one ever learn not to try and outguess the market?

Thanks for the sage advise over the last two years!

I eagerly await the new selections for the growth portfolio!

Finall, my wife has just retired and has a LIRA setup. The Company that is handling it scrapes off approximately $600 a month to administer it. She is not drawing on it until we are both retired. I would like to invest it based on the recommendations from 5i. We have a 5 year timeline until I am retired with a DB pension. Do you recommend the income portfolio, or a blend of all three folio’s, or to remain in the global balanced fund paying fees?

Beat Regards,

KC

Q: You have repeatedly recommended PBH, TSGI and PHO in your portfolios, so I am interested at starting positions in PBH and TSGI, and adding to my existing position in PHO.
While I like that they have all come down in price, I am hesitant to buy because you recommend buying into positive momentum not negative.
I use stockcharts for my evaluations before I buy so my question is: How would you determine when to enter a stock showing negative momentum using technicals? Do you wait until it crosses the xx day ema, MACD crosses positive, RSI above 50, etc.?

Q: I currently hold shares in GC, TSGI, TSG US (TSGI), & WEED.
Do u feel GC, TSGI & TSG are good long term holds?
Would you take profits in WEED using charts (trade the ups and downs) or just let it run and take profits when?
Tks.
